- So far, Episodes in Destiny 2 have had a mixed reception, though there is hope that Heresy could be the strongest yet.
Destiny 2 players will want to mark January 28 down on their calendars as Bungie prepares to give everyone their first look at Episode Heresy Act 1. The announcement follows a similar pattern that Bungie held for Acts 1 and 2 of Episode Revenant for Destiny 2.
Following the launch of The Final Shape, which was able to breathe new life into Destiny 2 for a while, Bungie moved away from seasonal content to what it called Episodes. While fans have been debating how they truly differ from the former seasonal structure, Episodes have been mostly controversial and not universally liked by their community. While Episode Revenant has seen plenty of frustrating bugs and problems, fans are hoping Episode Heresy is able to get the game back on track.
Destiny 2 Giving Gjallarhorn-style Buff to Underused Exotic Weapon
Bungie reveals upcoming Destiny 2 exotic changes in Episode Heresy including a Gjallarhorn-level change for one underused weapon in particular.
In the past few weeks, Bungie has continued to reveal new Destiny 2 information for Episode Heresy, largely detailing how the game's sandbox is going to be changing through changes to game modes, weapons, and other gear. For fans who want to know more about the core gameplay and narrative loop, Bungie is planning to finally give players an in-depth look at Act 1 of Episode Heresy on January 28.
Destiny 2 Episode Heresy Act 1 Livestream Date
- January 28 at 10am PT
The update confirms that players will be seeing new activities, stories, and the various rewards they can earn when Episode Heresy's first act arrives in February. In addition, for those watching on Twitch, they'll be able to earn the Scorned Organ emblem for watching the stream for 15 minutes. The livestream should give fans plenty of answers after Bungie teased the return of the Dreadnaught to Destiny 2 last year.
In the meantime, Bungie recently added a new limited event to Destiny 2 called Past is Prologue, similar to Riven's Wishes back during Season of the Wish. Largely a catch-up mechanic for players, the event allows players to complete quests to earn a unique currency that can be used to purchase rare resources, high stat artifice armor, or specially rolled adept weapons like the Igneous Hammer hand cannon.
