Bungie reveals all the exotic weapon changes coming in Episode: Revenant for Destiny 2, including adding the promised Choir of One tweaks. With only days left to go before the launch of the next major Destiny 2 episode, Bungie has revealed the most new information regarding the Scorn-themed update that's launching on October 8.
In fact, this week gave fans the best look at Revenant yet, as Bungie held a new Destiny 2 developer showcase for the approaching episode. During the stream, Bungie revealed more of the story for Episode: Revenant, confirming the return of characters like Mithrax and Eido to help assist the player as they go up against Fikrul's scorn army. Players will be able to craft potions for limited time bonuses, take part in an all-new Onslaught activity, and take on the Vesper's Host dungeon. In addition to new weapons and armor, this Episodic update is also bringing with it major changes to the game's sandbox, including many of its existing exotic weapons.
Destiny 2's Next Dungeon Features a First for the Franchise
Destiny 2 Episode: Revenant adds a new dungeon called Vesper's Host, though this one brings with it a new feature that's a first for the franchise.
The highlight of these exotic changes for most players will likely be with the exotic auto rifle Choir of One. Added through the newest Destiny 2 exotic mission within Episode: Echoes, Choir of One became an instant fan favorite thanks to its high DPS output and dual firing modes. However, Bungie warned Destiny 2 players about upcoming Choir of One changes, and with Episode: Revenant, those nerfs will be realized. Bungie is reducing the Choir of One's base and max reserves (now 200 and 300 respectively) while also reducing the impact damage at point-blank range by 50%. However, for PvP players, Bungie is buffing the weapon slightly so that hip-firing against players will get a 10% damage boost and will now start with and gain seven ammo when opening crates or picking up bricks.
Destiny 2: Episode Revenant Exotic Weapon Changes
However, Choir of One isn't the only exotic to receive changes inside of Destiny 2's Episode: Revenant update. Bungie listed the following weapons along with the changes they will be receiving on October 8:
|

|

Direct hit damage increased by 33%, an extra 5 ammo in reserves, a moth spawns on 2 direct hits with the cooldown reduced to 3 seconds. In addition, the camera recoil effect when firing has been reduced by 50%, projectile speed velocity has increased and projectile gravity has been reduced. |
|

|

Mag size has been reduced to 6 and the catalyst now gives the weapon +50 to reload speed instead of bonus ammo reserves. Bungie also removed sticky grenade, flame grenade, and remote detonation function. |
|
Lumina |
Hip fire projectiles now behave similar to support auto rifle healing shots. |
Alongside these weapon changes, Bungie previously detailed major Destiny 2 ability changes to most subclasses. Specifically, most roaming supers received some sort of buff to help make them more viable compared to the high damage burst supers which have become popular. Certain abilities are also getting improved like the Lightning Surge aspect for Warlocks and Hailfire Spike grenades for Prismatic Hunter.
