A creative Destiny 2 player has managed to perfectly replicate the menacing Black Knife Assassin enemy from Elden Ring using in-game armor parts and shaders. Thanks to its role in the game's monetization model, Destiny 2 has cultivated a wide array of cosmetic options for players who want to express themselves in-game via cosplay and fashion.

There's nothing quite like a robust player customization system to bring an ongoing game to life, and Destiny 2 has one of the more versatile ones among major live service titles. Introduced in 2021 as part of an overhaul to the game's cosmetic systems, Destiny 2 transmog supercharged the in-game fashion scene. It also conveniently added a useful avenue for monetization for Bungie to capitalize on. Those who wish to pay can also pick up premium cosmetics, including crossover costumes inspired by games and even movies, as evidenced by recent Star Wars-themed cosmetic packs. Thanks to this, players can draw on a pool of hundreds of armor parts and dozens of color shaders to get just the right look to recreate a favorite look or find a new and original aesthetic for their Guardian.

Destiny 2 Player Shares Impressive Hollow Knight Fashion

A creative Destiny 2 player creates impressive fashion inspired by the lead protagonist of the popular Metroidvania game Hollow Knight.

One player, who goes by TheKiculator on Reddit, chose the ultra-popular Elden Ring as their subject for a new Destiny 2 Hunter Guardian costume. They chose a series of parts to almost perfectly capture the look and deadly aura of the famed Elden Ring Black Knife Assassin. Deeply connected to the lore, Black Knife Assassins played a pivotal role in the politics of The Lands Between and are responsible for the death of Godwyn the Golden. Their iconic Black Knife weapons were also imbued with runes by the Empyrean Ranni, making them deadly threats to unsuspecting players when encountered.

Player Creates Perfect Faceless Elden Ring Black Knife Assassin Using Destiny 2 Hunter Parts

TheKickulator's Black Knife Assassin costume takes advantage of the classical Destiny 2 Hunter aesthetic that prizes a sleek, agile look accented by a head-covering hood. In fact, the Destiny 2 Hunter Class Item is a cloak and hood, cementing the class' culture and tradition across any number of characters. When using the particularly voluminous hood attached to Efrideet's Iron Cloak, the Hunter's mask can be almost completely hidden in the right lighting, giving the character a "faceless" look that matches that of the Black Knife Assassin.

Players heavily praised TheKickulator's work on making the "perfect" cosplay for an Elden Ring fan, as well as for players who want to turn their Hunters into a grim reaper analog. Some pointed out the way that TheKickulator used greenish highlights to replicate the tone of the Black Knife Assassin's armor. Some also jokingly demanded that this be the default look for Hunters who want to main the Nightstalker Hunter with the Spectral Blades super option.
