While some video game collaborations go both ways, the recently revealed Destiny 2 and For Honor collaboration only goes one way. More specifically, this particular collaboration sees For Honor essentially cosplaying as Destiny 2 for a limited-time in-game event, where the world of Destiny 2 is coming to For Honor, and not the other way around.
For Honor's collaboration with Destiny 2, titled "Light of the Guardians," is a limited-time Halloween event for the game that sees a dark fog covering Heathmoor. Within the fog, a dead Berserker, the Scorn Baron, arises, corrupting several others in the process and transforming them into Scorn. A lone Ghost has now chosen the player to fight back against the Scorn uprising during the event. The event comes packed with plenty of Destiny 2-themed features for For Honor, and it will last from October 24 to November 14.
Everything to Know About For Honor's Collaboration With Destiny 2
Two Destiny 2-Themed Hero Skins Have Been Introduced to For Honor for the Event
Aside from the unique narrative of For Honor's Destiny 2-themed Halloween event, two new hero skins are coming to the game as well for the Lawbringer and the Centurion. The Violet King Hero Skin, inspired by Destiny 2's Trials of Osiris games master, Saint-14, is available for the Lawbringer in For Honor during the event. The Crucible Lord Hero Skin, on the other hand, is available for the Centurion and was inspired by Destiny 2's Crucible games master, Lord Shaxx. Both Hero Skins aren't exact replicas of Saint-14 and Lord Shaxx and still maintain For Honor's aesthetics, but the resemblance they bear to those Destiny 2 characters is certainly uncanny.
Players will be allowed to acquire both Destiny 2-themed Hero Skins even after Light of the Guardians ends.
Light of the Guardians Features a Free Event Pass and Even More Destiny 2-Themed Rewards
During Light of the Guardians, players will also have access to a free event pass in For Honor, which includes some exclusive rewards. Featured among the rewards are two weapons, the Praepotentis Guardian Flail and Shield and the Yongsheng Guardian Polearm, both of which incorporate the event's purple color scheme.
- Heathmoor Guardian Battle Outfit
- Scorn Nemesis Ornament
- Map of Destiny Mood Effect
- Praepotentis Guardian Flail and Shield
- Yongsheng Guardian Polearm
The rewards included in the free event pass aren't the only new features Light of the Guardians has brought to For Honor, as Destiny 2's signature look and feel has also made its way into post-match loot as well. This is in addition to even more Destiny 2-themed items that are available for purchase from the in-game store, including emotes, a podium, an Illustrious Outfit, and more. Furthermore, should players not get a chance to log into For Honor during the event, the Destiny 2 items will still be available for purchase even after the event concludes.
For Honor Has Introduced a Dominion-Inspired Game Mode With Light of the Guardians
Finally, one of the biggest additions coming to For Honor with Light of the Guardians is a limited-time PvPvE Dominion-inspired game mode similar to Destiny 2's Gambit. The new game mode sees players fighting through lines of minions to reach the Scorn Baron in the center, whom they are then required to defeat, all while facing off against the enemy team. It is appropriately similar to Destiny 2's Gambit, which sees players fighting to defeat their Primeval before the other team.
A community Order will also take place during Light of the Guardians with three reward milestones for the For Honor community to achieve. The first milestone will net all players 2,000 Steel, the second, 2,000 Steel and four XP boosts, and the third, the Ghost Trophy ornament for all Heroes, 1,000 Steel, and an XP boost. There is plenty in store for For Honor players during its in-game Halloween event, so they should take advantage of it while they can from October 24 to November 14.
