Bungie reveals all the exotic weapons changes coming to Destiny 2 when Episode Heresy arrives in February. Time on Episode Revenant continues to tick down as Destiny 2 players look ahead to what Bungie has planned for the final Episodic adventure before the anticipated Codename Frontiers launches this summer.
In Bungie's latest weekly post, the studio provided Destiny 2 fans with even more upcoming sandbox changes when Episode Heresy arrives. This week was all about exotics and Bungie's attempt to improve the standing of many that have fallen by the wayside. One such exotic weapon is the D.A.R.C.I. Heavy sniper rifle, which was at one point a damage-dealing menace, but has quickly been replaced over the years by other exotic gear.
Destiny 2 Making Big Changes to Abilities in Episode Heresy
Bungie reveals extensive changes and balancing being done to abilities coming in Destiny 2 when Episode Heresy launches in February.
Instead of simply providing the weapon with a few simple buffs, Bungie is trying something a bit different to help give it a place within the fireteam in a similar way to how Destiny 2's version of the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher benefits a group of players. Within Episode Heresy, D.A.R.C.I. Is getting a new catalyst perk called Network Targeting, which grants the player and any allies with improved weapon performance and precision damage with non-Exotic Sniper Rifles after hitting the target with Personal Assistant active. In addition, the D.A.R.C.I user also receives a +15% damage bump after five stacks have been given to a teammate.
Destiny 2 Unviels Major Buffs for Underused Exotic Weapons
In addition to the D.A.R.C.I. Sniper rifle, Bungie revealed its plans to address other underperforming exotics as well, including another unique change to Destiny 2's most high profile fusion rifle. As a weapon that has proven difficult to keep under control, Bungie is leaning into Telesto's unique position in Destiny 2 by combining its in-game lore with its history of in-game bugs. Essentially, Telesto now has a couple of buffs, allowing the pulses to trigger on any Void final blow, refilling ammo from reserves, and gaining a special reload that causes a rain of Telesto projectiles on the next direct hit.
Other exotic changes, include Thunderlord and Cloudstike, the latter of which is included in the current Destiny 2 Past is Prologue event, gaining access to the Bolt Charge bonus, Lord of Wolves getting a redesign, Fourth Horseman and Legend of Acrius getting buffed to no longer be so niche picks, and the Quicksilver Storm seeing some of the recent nerfs being removed. Heavy weapons like Wardcliff Coil, Queensbreaker, and The Colony are also getting boosts alongside some other lesser picked weapons.
