Events in Destiny 2 help add some variety to the routine. To freshen things up, Bungie is experimenting with new events in preparation for another year of Destiny 2 content and another multi-year story saga starting with The Edge of Fate. In addition to the Rite of the Nine, there is a PvP event for players to partake in. This new event is called Heavy Metal, and it allows players to control a Brig for the first time ever.
Destiny 2: How to Get Star Wars Skins
Destiny 2 players can cosplay as their favorite Star Wars villains with these armors that bring Darth Vader, General Grievous, & Kylo Ren to the game.
Heavy Metal Event Explained
This new Crucible mode is essentially a cross between a holiday event like Festival of the Lost and a rotating PvP mode like Team Scorched. Unlike Team Scorched, however, you will be in either a Brig or a tank. It is a 3v3 mode combined with Supremacy, where you have to pick up the coin dropped by an opponent to get additional points. A Leader is randomly selected, and they glow with a gold aura. If you manage to get the Leader's coin, you get two points instead of one.
In both Brigs and tanks, you have a primary attack, a secondary attack with limited ammo, and a dash button. This event lasts for one week, so you will have some time to get all of the rewards.
All Heavy Metal Rewards
As you complete challenges and matches, you will gain experience towards the next event rank. There are 15 ranks in total, and here are the rewards that you can obtain. At the end of the reward track is the first-ever Combat Sparrow in the game, Gryphon.

The best way to increase your rank is to complete challenges, especially the weekly challenge, as it is worth the most XP. There will be two weekly challenges for this event, so make sure to complete both of them. You also get XP from completing matches, but the challenges are worth more and will make your efforts to get the Exotic combat sparrow, Gryphon, go faster.
As you complete challenges, you will get Event Tokens. These tokens can be used to purchase additional rewards on the Reward Shop tab.
