Bungie released Update 8.2.6.2 for Destiny 2, making tweaks to numerous activities like Rite of the Nine and more. With Episode Heresy slowly approaching its end this summer, Bungie continues to make changes to the core Destiny 2 experience, with one major recent change being made to the current Rite of the Nine event.
Following the launch of Rite of the Nine, players discovered timegated content as Dungeons were rotating after three weeks, something which wasn't disclosed beforehand. The backlash and frustrations from players reached Bungie, who quickly made big changes to the Destiny 2 schedule to reduce the rotation to every two weeks instead. Not only that, the studio buffed Nonary Manifold currency drop rates and revealed an upcoming "lootapalooza" event in July.

Alongside the Destiny 2 Weekly Reset, Bungie put the game into a short maintenance window to release a new update for players. Update 8.2.6.2 is fairly small when compared to many previous patches BUngie has released for Destiny 2, instead focusing on addressing various bugs and other problems impacting the core game. For example, Trials of Osiris received an adjustment, so duos have a reduced chance of matchmaking against trios, and one particularly nasty bug that dropped Rite of the Nine weapons at zero power has been fixed.
In addition to the patch notes, the Destiny 2 Team ccount also had a bit more to say regarding Destiny 2's Rite of the Nine activity and how players earn its rewards. In order to have adept versions of specific dungeon gear potentially appear from the Nonary Manifolds chest next to the Emissary, players first need to earn them from the activity. So, ideally, players will want to start with Eternity difficulty, or if possible, work through the Ultimatum difficulty for the best chance at unlocking new gear.
While Rite of the Nine has been received well by the community, most players are looking ahead to the highly anticipated next expansion. Previously known as Codename: Frontiers, the Year of Prophecy roadmap for Destiny 2 has been revealed, with two new expansions, such as July's The Edge of Fate, as well as two major updates which will launch midway through each DLC window. Fans will also be getting a Star Wars-inspired expansion late in 2025 known as Renegards.
