Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted features the return of the classic Solstice of Heroes event, which this year is simply called Solstice, and it has a very different approach to the grind for loot. This year, Destiny 2 players can complete Solstice Triumphs to get materials to upgrade their armor pieces, which can be rerolled to get higher stats and semi-customizable stat distribution. This guide explains how to make the Solstice armor glow and how to make it work for every piece of armor.

How to Unlock Glow on Solstice Armor

In order to make the new Candescent set of armor from the Solstice event glow, Destiny 2 players will need to complete all the Solstice-related Triumphs in the event card, as each of them awards 1 Kindling.

A total of 6 Kindling is used to make a single armor piece glow, which is done by upgrading the Kindling slot on the armor three times: the first time for 1 Kindling, the second for 2, and the third for 3.

Because the full armor set is made of four pieces plus the class item, players will need to complete all Solstice Triumphs to get enough Kindling, for a total of 24. The class item will not glow until all other pieces have been fully Kindled, as it doesn't have the Kindling slot.

How to Complete Solstice Triumphs

There are 24 Triumphs associated with the Solstice event, and to complete the full armor glow, Destiny 2 players have to go through all of them on every character they wish to have the glowing armor on.

  • Bashing Success - This Triumph is completed by default after the first introductory Bonfire Bash run.
  • Good Ignite - This Triumph is easy to complete just by playing Bonfire Bash when players need to convert Silver Leaves into Silver Ash, it will advance passively.
  • Torch the Taken - For this Triumph, players will need to defeat the Taken that pop up in the Bonfire Bash activity to interrupt the Solstice ritual, not just any Taken enemy in the activity. Again, this is done by just playing Bonfire Bash.

  • Fuel for the Fire (I-III) - These are three separate Triumphs that share the same completion condition, which is to deposit Igniters at the bonfire. The Igniters deposited count team-wide, even for those who don't play in a team, and eight max-reward runs will suffice for all three stages.
  • Ash Tray - Destiny 2 players will need to collect Silver Ash for this Triumph, which is best done passively by focusing on other specific Triumphs, like Brightfall or Fires of Competition.
  • All Around the Bonfire - This Triumph is RNG-based, as players need to complete the activity twice against all three available enemy races: Cabal, Hive, and Fallen. It can take a minimum of six runs, but a good average is 10-12 runs.
  • Like Wildfire - Another passive Triumph that will be completed by defeating targets anywhere in the game, across all game modes. This will auto-complete by playing a bit, effortlessly.
  • Pyromania - The best way to complete this Triumph is to use Solar 3.0 builds that revolve around spamming abilities. All melee-based builds or grenade builds work great and will make this Triumph an easy one.
  • Superlative - Destiny 2 players need to defeat enemies with Supers for this Triumph, which can be done passively just by playing the game. Enemies killed while inside one's own Well of Radiance will count towards the Triumph, but kills while buffed by Ward of Dawn won't.

  • Fire Power - This Triumph requires Heavy weapon kills, which is best done with machine guns and swords for their excellent add-clearing capabilities and Gjallarhorn or other Exotics with AoE damage.
  • Forged in Flame - This Triumph requires 100 Guardian kills, which is a lot, but it can be easy to manage with this week's Crucible mode, which is Mayhem. Mayhem has rapid Super regeneration, and it's easy to score many kills in every run, even for those who are not fond of PvP.
  • Hand Lighter - A Triumph that requires hand cannon kills, but it can be completed anywhere at any time. The best way to optimize this is to use hand cannons in PvP matches and in Gambit, and also in other casual PvE activities necessary for other Triumphs.
  • Shotgun Solstice - The same concept as the hand cannon Triumph, but in this case, it's shotgun kills. For Destiny 2 players who haven't completed the recent Gambit weekly challenges for Season of the Haunted, using a shotgun in Gambit will grant progress towards those as well.
  • Burn Them Down - This Triumph requires 60 boss kills, which count the Bonfire Bash final boss. Realistically, this will take a bit of farming, but between Strikes, Nightfalls, and Bonfire Bash runs, it's a rather quick one to complete.
  • Raking the Coals - To complete this Triumph, players will need to run playlist activities like Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible. As such, it can be completed passively by focusing on other Triumphs.

  • Solstice Jubilee - For this Triumph, players will need to complete multiple public events. Heroic public events grant the most progress, and good destinations for these are the EDZ, Nessus, and Savathun's Throne World. The latter is especially good because players can also tangentially complete another Triumph there.

  • Lamplighter - This Triumph requires patrols on any destination, and the best place to do it is Savathun's Throne World, as it will grant progress for another Triumph as well.
  • Dare to Dream - In this case, players will have to run Dares of Eternity and Blind Well to gain progress, with Dares providing around 25% completion per run, and Blind Well varying based on how many tiers are completed in a single run.
  • Brightfall - A good way to complete this Triumph is to farm multiple Master Nightfalls for materials and Exotics, passively gaining 10% progress for this Triumph after every completion. This week's Nightfall is Warden of Nothing, and on Master, it typically requires 10-to-15 minutes per run with a team.
  • Fires of Competition - This Triumph requires players to complete 25 matches total between Crucible and Gambit, and the best way to do it is to run multiple Mayhem matches, which helps with the Forged in Flame Triumph.
  • A Spark in the Dark - This Triumph requires Destiny 2 players to run multiple Sever missions or Altars of Sorrow. The latter is a great way to level up crafted weapons or complete Exotic catalyst. This is a bit grindy, but it can be done in an hour or so.
  • In the Hot Seat - This Triumph is best completed with Lamplighter and Solstice Jubilee, as players can progress towards all three Triumphs at once just by doing public events and patrols at the same time on Savathun's Throne World.

This concludes the list of Solstice Triumphs, which will award 24 Kindling when completed, allowing players to fully make their event armor glow.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
