Destiny 2 has more versatility than ever when it comes to crafting the ultimate powerhouse build for Guardians. Yet, there's one undisputed Exotic that Hunters have had for years, which only grows in strength and popularity when fighting against the most evil of Destiny 2's bosses. The Celestial Nighthawk is an amazing Hunter Exotic Helmet that everyone is going to want for their Golden Gun builds.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape Review
Destiny 2's finale doesn't pull punches when it comes to providing an exciting story enriched with emotional complexion.
Yet, Destiny 2 features so many Exotics, so how exactly can players get their hands on this specific piece? Luckily, there are a few ways that players can unlock
Celestial Nighthawk in Destiny 2, but all Guardians are going to need to be patient, or have a lot of luck, Glimmer, or Strange Coins to proceed.
Decrypt Exotic Engrams
The most straightforward, yet lengthy way to get Celestial Nighthawk is by unlocking a prestige rank with Master Rahool, which will unlock Tier 3 Focusing's Novel Decryption. This allows players to spend an Exotic Engram and an Exotic Cipher to acquire Exotic Armor that they have yet to discover. Heading to this tab, players can decrypt themselves a Celestial Nighthawk with a random roll of stats, but always the same
Hawkeye Hack Exotic Perk.
If new players have yet to acquire a Celestial Nighthawk, then there are a few ways that they can try and get their hands on it. One way is to simply progress through the game's PvE content, as whilst players are finishing up missions, a random enemy has a low chance to drop an Exotic Engram, which they can take to Master Rahool in the Tower to decrypt it. This Exotic Engram will always be an item that they have not acquired yet, so there are no chances for a repeating Exotic they do not want.
Another way to acquire Exotic Engrams is through ritual playlist activities. Every week on Tuesday's reset, players can earn an Exotic Engram for completing 3 activities across Crucible, Gambit, and Strikes. This can be repeated 3 times, meaning each week, Guardians can get their hands on 3 Exotic Engrams for their Hunters to decrypt at Master Rahool.
Other ways to acquire Exotic Engrams can be through spending Strange Coins at Xur in the hopes that his weekly deliveries bring along a Celestial Nighthawk. Yet, a more challenging attempt can be made by looking to the Directory to find a Lost Sector icon, as this rotates daily between different locations. At this Lost Sector, if players complete it on Master or Legend in Solo, then they have a chance of earning an Exotic Engram, but they will have to check each day to wait for the loot pool to be Exotic Helmets.
Celestial Nighthawk Stats
- Hawkeye Hack: Precision final blows reduce the cooldown of your Super. Modifies Golden Gun to fire a single, high-damage shot. Targets defeated by that shot give you Super energy and explode.
With how powerful Guardians can become with Prismatic, Celestial Nighthawk further builds into the potential, allowing Hunters with Solar's Golden Gun Super to use a single shot for high damage. Whether players reserve it for bosses or mini-bosses, the damage numbers are going to put them at the top of their Fireteam with ease, especially when facing bosses with large and necessary crit spots like The Witness, or even Oryx. Every team could benefit from a Celestial Nighthawk Hunter, and with 6 of them, each boss phase will be over in a flash.
