Not Forgotten was once the best Hand Cannon for PvP in Destiny 2, but since its glory days, many other weapons have risen and fallen with the ever-shifting Crucible meta. While Not Forgotten is still a perfectly usable gun, there are a lot of other options to choose from, including ones that can outperform this once-feared weapon.
From Auto Rifles to Legacy Frame Pulse Rifles and even Sidearms, Not Forgotten's competition is quite steep. However, it still retains all the things that made it so legendary in the earlier days of Destiny 2. If you're considering getting or picking this weapon up again, here's a quick overview on how it performs in 2025's Crucible meta so far.
Destiny 2: Psychopomp God Rolls
Psychopomp is a phenomenal weapon for add-clear in Destiny 2, especially with the right perks.
How Good is Not Forgotten in Destiny 2?
Not Forgotten is a 140 RPM Precision Frame Hand Cannon. Yes, that's Precision Frame, not the usual Adaptive Frame like most 140 RPM Hand Cannons. This means that Not Forgotten's recoil is similar to that of 180 RPM Hand Cannons like Malfeasance — it won't kick as much, and it has better accuracy too.
This isn't the only thing that makes Not Forgotten unique, however. Its perks and stat spread are as follows:

Magnificent Howl lets Not Forgotten (and other 140 RPM Hand Cannons) kill enemy Guardians in two headshots, assuming players have Magnificent Howl stacks earned from scoring Precision Kills. Meanwhile, Zen Moment makes it easier for players to hit consecutive headshots. This gun is great if you can go on killstreaks.
Is Not Forgotten Worth Using?
Absolutely. Apart from its low Handling, Not Forgotten's stats are pretty decent for a 140 RPM Hand Cannon, and its perks aren't horrible either. What's better is, unlike its competition, players can get this gun from the Tower's exotic/sunset weapons kiosk for 150,000 Glimmer. Not Forgotten has only one curated roll, so there's no RNG-based grinding involved if you want to get this weapon.
However, Not Forgotten somewhat pales in comparison to other popular 140 RPM HCs. The reprised Palindrome, for example, has a more well-rounded stat distribution, and it can roll with Magnificent Howl too. Additionally, Palindrome can roll with a variety of perks, making it more versatile overall.
Also, it's worth mentioning that Not Forgotten shares the exact same stat spread as the reprised Luna's Howl. If you're not a fan of the Zen Moment/Magnificent Howl combo, then you can farm Luna's Howl from the Onslaught activity and see if you can get one with a better perk roll.
Despite the above, we still recommend using Not Forgotten if you have nothing else better in your inventory. However, keep in mind that Magnificent Howl isn't that useful in 3v3 Competitive modes, where 120 RPM Hand Cannons still reign.
