Destiny 2 has launched its newest collaboration, this one with Mass Effect. Destiny 2 fans can currently claim the Alliance Requisitions Bundle for free and purchase additional Mass Effect-themed content through the in-game Eververse store.

Earlier this year, Destiny 2 also implemented a crossover with The Witcher, which introduced a new event that saw players participate in a community-wide challenge. Before this event, back in November, Destiny 2 players were also given the opportunity to unlock additional cosmetics inspired by The Witcher. Although there isn't a Mass Effect-themed event in Destiny 2 at this time, it seems that Bungie is continuing its crossover trend by allowing users to claim new cosmetics inspired by the popular sci-fi video game franchise.

Mass Effect fans can also purchase the Omni Strike finisher and Flux Dance emote, which are available in the Eververse store as well. Destiny 2 also released a new update today that fixed some bugs such as players being unable to reacquire the Chivalric Fire Legendary Sword and the Stormcaller Warlock's Ball Lightning melee projectile failing to spawn. Additionally, the update adjusted the requirements for Riven's Wishes. Destiny 2's last update from earlier in February improved seasonal activities, fixed bugs, and more. In addition to these updates, it seems that Bungie is hoping to use crossovers with popular franchises to help Destiny 2 rebound from its dwindling player numbers.

Destiny 2 hit an all-time low in Steam player count when it dropped to just under 35,000 concurrent players back in November. Since then, this low has only dropped further, as its Steam concurrent player count sunk below 25,000 users on February 9. The new low was preceded by an important team member departing from Destiny 2.

Recently, Destiny 2's game director Joe Blackburn announced he would be moving on from Bungie this month. However, recent Destiny 2 news isn't all doom and gloom, as there is some excitement surrounding the game's next expansion, The Final Shape, which Blackburn called one of the "things I'm most proud to have worked on throughout my career." Destiny 2's The Final Shape DLC is set to release in June.
