The Peregrine Greaves has been a mainstay in the Titan's arsenal in Destiny 2, but with the balance changes that came with Season of the Wish, this exotic leg armor only got better. While it's still designed around improving aerial shoulder charge skills, the buffs it received have made it significantly stronger in endgame content.

When it comes to clearing high-level PvE content in Destiny 2, making a build focused on the Peregrine Greaves isn't usually the first thing that comes to mind. However, thanks to the massive buff it got, players can use this armor piece to one-shot Champions in Master difficulty and above without losing melee energy. Here's a setup that allows for back-to-back shoulder charges without putting players at too much risk of dying.

The large ogre boss of Destiny 2's Warlord's Ruin dungeon ramps up the challenge. Here's how to defeat the Locus of Wailing Grief.

Titan Peregrine Greaves Build

The Peregrine Greaves in Destiny 2
Destiny 2 Peregrine Greaves

The Peregrine Greaves increases the damage of all shoulder charge abilities when used while the Titan is airborne. After the Season of the Wish exotic armor reworks, Peregrine Greaves' intrinsic trait now reads as follows:

  • After sprinting for 2 seconds, and after being airborne for 0.5 seconds, grants Peregrine Strike until the floor is touched. Passively grants +20 Airborne Effectiveness.
  • Peregrine Strike: Grant Shoulder Charge abilities 225% increased impact damage. Champions, Tormentors, and Minibosses instead take 1000% increased impact damage and grant 100% Melee Energy. Frozen enemies will not take increased Melee damage from Peregrine Strike.

The most ideal build for the Peregrine Greaves will change from season to season according to whatever's available on the seasonal artifact. For Season of the Wish, players can get a lot of mileage from the Solar subclass, as the majority of artifact mods revolve around Solar damage.

Class Setup

Titan Hammer Strike skill in Destiny 2
Destiny 2 Hammer Strike skill
  • Aspects: Sol Invictus, Roaring Flames
  • Fragments: Eruption, Char, Mercy, Tempering
  • Abilities: Towering Barricade, Healing Grenade, Hammer Strike, Jump and Super of choice

Players will get a ton of healing sources from Healing Grenade and Sol Invictus. After bulldozing a Champion with Peregrine Strike, players will immediately start healing thanks to the Sunspot created by Sol Invictus. Meanwhile, Roaring Flames makes sure that Hammer Strike deals even more damage for the next few seconds after defeating a Champion. Embers of Tempering and Mercy also lets players create Firesprites that grant Restoration whenever they score final blows with Solar Weapons.

Defeating targets with Hammer Strike causes them to Ignite, triggering Ember of Eruption and spreading Scorch to every nearby enemy. This synergizes with the Incandescent perk on weapons, potentially causing more Ignitions if players can chain enough kills together.

Priority Artifact Mods (Season of the Wish)

  • Kindling Trigger
  • Flint Striker
  • Rays of Precision
  • Torch
  • Solo Operative (if going solo)

Flint Striker is extremely valuable this season because it grants Radiant just by scoring rapid Precision Hits or Precision Final Blows. Radiant grants weapons Anti-Barrier properties on top of adding extra damage. Since the seasonal artifact only has Anti-Barrier Sidearm, Flint Striker will let players reliably use other weapons like SMGs, Fusion Rifles, and Machine Guns for stunning Barrier Champions.

Torch works particularly well with a Chill Clip Riptide or a Scatter Signal with Slice. As long as players are Radiant, these Fusion Rifles can stun Anti-Barrier Champions and soften them up for Peregrine Strike. This damage will get even higher with Solo Operative on.

Armor Mods

  • Helmet: Heavy Ammo Finder, Heavy Ammo Scout, Harmonic Siphon
  • Arms: Impact Induction x2, Heavy Handed
  • Chest: Elemental Resistance mods
  • Legs: Recuperation, Better Already, Innervation
  • Class Item: Bomber (x2), Reaper

Since Peregrine Greaves fully restores Hammer Strike's energy when defeating a Champion, players can freely build around generating energy for their grenade or class ability. The setup above focuses on regenerating grenade energy via Impact Induction, Heavy Handed, and Bomber. Always try to generate Orbs of Power to trigger the Leg armor mods, which grant will help top off health.
