A Destiny 2 player created a build based on Ninja Gaiden and shared the result online. Other members of the Destiny 2 community reacted to the set, which gave the player's Hunter a new makeover, with lots of praise, admiring their creativity.
The iconic franchise returned to the spotlight in 2025 with the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black at the end of January. The game is a remaster of the title that was originally released in 2008 exclusively for the Xbox 360 but with some notable differences. Some stand out, such as improved graphics thanks to Unreal Engine 5, three new chapters, and the revamp of the fan-favorite Survival mode. On October 21, the franchise will move forward with the release of the highly anticipated Ninja Gaiden 4, featuring the legendary Ryu Hayabusa and ninja prodigy Yakumo in a new adventure. Paying homage to this beloved series, a Destiny 2 player has created an impressive build.
One Destiny 2 Exotic Makes DPS 'Easy’
Players looking for a universal skeleton key for DPS in Destiny 2 should look no further than this previously overlooked Exotic heavy weapon.
On the DestinyFasion subreddit, user KrypzYT showed how they transformed their Hunter into Ryu Hayabusa. The highlight of the Ninja Gaiden-inspired setup is Weyloran's Iron Mask, a Legendary ornament introduced in Destiny 2 Season 3 that mimics Hayabusa's iconic mask. The other pieces of equipment that make up the build are The Wrong Hands, Hardened Basilisk Vest, Thunderhead Strides, and Covert Ranger Cloak, respectively added in Seasons 15, 19, 20, and 26. With them, the player composes a set that reproduces the Legendary Black Falcon, the costume Ryu wears in modern Ninja Gaiden games.
Destiny 2 Player Turns Their Hunter Into Ninja Gaiden's Ryu Hayabusa
To help bring their idea to life, the OP used the shader Gambit Chrome, giving the same tones of silver and gray to Hayabusa's suit, and Gambit Suede to reproduce the ninja's skin tone. Amethyst Veil added even more detail to the armor set along with Superblack, a very popular shader that inspired other Destiny 2 builds created by the community. The result is impressive due to the helmet and the shader used on it, and how the Superblack shader further increases the fidelity of the recreation.
While Ninja Gaiden fans are happy about the series' return in full swing, the Destiny 2 community also has something to look forward to. On July 15, The Edge of Fate arrives, and the next major Destiny 2 paid expansion will introduce a range of content like new equipment, enemies, weapons, and abilities. The expansion will also add a new campaign, a new raid, and a non-linear character-driven story.
