In advance of the release of the anticipated Renegades expansion, Bungie gives Destiny 2 players a look at what's coming to the game through the next few updates. Typically, Destiny 2 players have a decent idea of what's coming to the game well in advance, but there's a bit of apprehension these days as not much is known beyond the upcoming Renegades expansion.

IN years past, Bungie would commonly showcase upcoming seasons and a year's worth of content that fans could look forward to. However, with Destiny 2 currently struggling and its players quickly leaving, many have begun to worry about the game's future beyond the Star Wars-inspired Renegades expansion. As Bungie slowly opens up with new content and features about Renegades, the long-term future of Destiny 2 remains a mystery. While it may not answer every question that fans have, Bungie has finally given players a small window into its future plans.

Bungie gives fans a preview of its planned major exotic weapon buffs coming to Destiny 2 when the Renegades expansion launches in December.

Destiny 2 Renegades Feature and Content Roadmap

With the arrival of Destiny 2 Renegades now just weeks away, Bungie has begun to share more and more with fans about what they can expect. In a new blog, the developer highlights where the game has been wth Edge of Fate and where it's going. It may not be a long-term view of Destiny 2, but it does outline some of the big things on the horizon, such as the new Destiny 2: Renegades exotics and weapons, Portal content additions, Rewards refresh, as well as some highly anticipated new features.

The post first acknowledges the many missteps of Destiny 2: Edge of Fate, highlighting how player feedback has been vital to continue shaping the experience these past few months. These lessons learned continue through the launch of Renegades on December 3 and the following update planned for December 9, which gives players more ways to reach the Power gap, removes the limiting "featured gear" restriction, and gives new or returning players a catch-up mechanic to instantly jump to power level 300.

In one of the bigger reveals, Bungie is increasing the Vault by 300 spots, letting players store up to 1000 items. Better yet, it will also receive a revamped filtering system, with a way to sort by tier, power, date added and view specific gear types like weapons, armor, or ghost shells. Not only that, Bungie is letting players apply any owned Exotic Armor ornament of the same class and slot to their exotic armor in PvE, similar to what one would expect from a transmog system, only now, it includes exotic armor.

Finally, there's a big effort to reduce the frustrations surrounding Destiny 2's Porta l, which Bungie admitted "surrenders too much of Destiny’s feeling of place and exploration." Specifically, Destiny 2 will be reintroducing weekly objectives including a new Vanguard Alerts system, which lets players quickly and easily see playlists and activities on tap for the current week. It's meant to bring back the old feeling of weekly Nightfall activities, consolidating the weekly Fireteam, Arena, Grandmaster, and PvP game modes onto one easy-to-see screen.
