Destiny 2 has recently announced the continuation of content for the long-standing game from the developers at Bungie. Having concluded their Light and Darkness saga, it's finally time for the Guardians to move on to new pastures and travel light years to new and far, far-away galaxies. Destiny 2's latest trailer teases a smorgasbord of new content, with Renegades catching the eyes of most gamers and sci-fi fans alike.
Destiny 2: All Glaives, Ranked
Glaives are the newest weapon archetype in Destiny 2, but which are the best? Here's how all glaives rank against each other.
Seemingly inspired by the Star Wars universe, Destiny 2 seems to be releasing an entire expansion dedicated to and related to the franchise. From Lightsabers, Blasters, and even Tatooine, Guardians are in for a treat with the Destiny 2: Renegades expansion that launches later in 2025. Here are some things we hope to see in the Renegades expansion.
8 Space Battles
Take On Fleets Of Dredgen In A Custom Ship Made For Combat
A long-desired aspect of Destiny 2 is to actually explore the magical star system that appears during cut scenes and loading segments. Guardians long to hop into their ships and traverse the endless reaches of space, with epic PvP combat popping up during those journeys.
Destiny 2: Every Exotic Auto Rifle, Ranked
There are a total of 11 Exotic Auto Rifles in Destiny 2, and each of them offers unique traits and perks to provide what could be the ultimate weapon.
Ship vs. Ship combat would be the perfect cherry on top of the Renegade s update and would more than revitalize the Destiny 2 community with its innovative approach. Being able to board a ship, take on enemy cruisers, or engage other Guardians who choose to side with the Dredgen, similar to the Railjack content in Warframe, would be an excellent way to expand upon the gameplay of Destiny 2.
7 Sparrow Racing
Bring Back A Classic Game Mode
Sparrow Racing had a brief lifespan in Destiny, but did not return in Destiny 2. Many Guardians have long awaited the return of the Sparrow Racing League, especially with the vast collection of Sparrows that are currently available in Destiny 2.
Renegades would be the perfect expansion to reintroduce this game mode and take inspiration from Pod Racing in Star Wars. A Track with more lethal obstacles and a faster pace would make a big splash in Destiny 2 and show how much more there is to look forward to as the game continues past the Light and Dark saga.
6 Forest Sparrow Mission
Pursue Or Evade Enemies In An Epic Chase
Sparrows have not had a big role in Destiny 2 for some time. However, with the release of the new Weaponized Sparrow, they may be playing a larger role in PvE content. A mission similar to the chase scenes found in multiple Star Wars movies would be fantastic.
Guardians slicing through dense trees and startled fauna, trying to catch or get away from a target, would be an adrenaline thrill ride that every Guardian would love. With so much potential in a Star Wars-inspired expansion, missing out on this classic and fan-favorite aspect would be dropping the ball.
5 Dregen Bounty Hunter Enemies
A Mandalorian-Inspired Enemy Type
The Renegades expansion must have some originality when it comes to the base content of Destiny 2. With Guardians heading toward unknown frontiers, new and more dangerous enemies are a must. Dredgen are making their presence known, and fleets of Guardian-like enemies would be perfect to completely change the experience of combat in Destiny 2.
Light Bearers charged with killing the Guardian using Light subclasses and exotic weapons would be a perfect challenge for new and returning Guardians to face in Destiny 2: Renegades.
4 Smuggling Missions
Interplanetary Patrol Missions
A great addition to Destiny 2: Renegades would be expanding the patrol missions available in whatever new environment Guardians will have to traverse. Branching the Patrol missions into more immersive content would breathe new life into an otherwise overlooked aspect of the game.
Taking on a patrol mission from an NPC in the new Renegades expansion, collecting materials, then delivering them to another location or bringing them back to the Tower for a reward would be an entertaining change to the base game systems.
3 Lightsaber Exotics
New Exotic Sword Weapons
Few things were teased in the Destiny 2: Renegades trailer. However, there was a glimpse of a new melee weapon that looks like Star Wars-inspired Lightsabers. With Destiny 2's melee weapon arsenal constantly growing from swords and glaives, laser swords would be an interesting addition to the collection.
Destiny 2: Hardest Final Bosses in Dungeons, Ranked
Fireteams of brave Guardians in Destiny 2 can delve into Dungeons to face off against some of the hardest bosses ever seen.
These laser swords could have unique traits and abilities to make them stand out from common swords, like the ability to Empower Subclasses or reflect projectiles. Most exotic melee weapons in Destiny 2 come in threes, so there should be three new laser sword models for Titan, Warlock, and Hunter.
2 A Desert Biome
A Desolate World Void Of Non-Aggressive Life
The worlds contained in Destiny 2 are vast environments that encapsulate the planet they reside on perfectly. From the lush and colorful fauna of Earth to the cold, lifeless halls of the moon. In the trailer for Destiny 2: Renegades, a desert biome is teased, similar to Tatooine, which first appeared in the first Star Wars film.
Destiny 2: All Guardian Games Weapons, Ranked
A number of unique weapons are available during Destiny 2's Guardian Games event, but how do they rank up in terms of power and utility?
This area may also be very similar to Mars, but hopefully much harsher. With new mountain formations, Guardians would be in wide open areas with potentially roaming ambushes of bandit alliances, or they might discover small village-like societies.
1 A Deathstar Mission
Storm And Destroy An Enemy Base
Last but not least, a Star Wars-inspired expansion must come complete with a "destroy the enemy base" dungeon. Similar to when the Prison of Elders fell in the Forsaken expansion, Guardians should have the opportunity to take on a large enemy base of operations like Starkiller base or the original Death Star, and swap between space combat, infiltration, and finally all-out war against the enemy faction.
Warframe: The New War's story executed this perfectly and told its narrative from multiple points of view, completely immersing players in the experience.
