Destiny 2  players having issues accessing the game aren't alone, as Bungie has confirmed that the servers for both Destiny  and Destiny 2  are currently experiencing issues. As of this writing, there's no ETA for a fix, but Bungie urged fans to check in with its support page for updates.

On Twitter, Bungie revealed that multiple players are getting stuck with "Baboon" error prompts, which is typically caused by packet loss between the player's game and Destiny 2's servers. In the replies to Bungie's tweets, Destiny 2  players have been a mix of supportive and frustrated, some acknowledging that issues are bound to happen, while others expressed disappointment over activities lagging.

Service outages occur from time to time, especially during peak hours, such as weekends, which may be part of the game's current issue. Typically, the problems don't last for more than a few hours, so there's a good chance that the game will be up and running soon, though there are plenty of factors that can affect when things come back online, meaning fans will have to be patient.

Recently, Bungie has struggled to keep Destiny 2  fans happy, with certain decisions, like implementing a weapon sunsetting mechanic in Destiny 2's near future, being a particular point of contention for the community. That's caused a strange relationship between the developer and its fans, though there's still a healthy amount to look forward to.

Bungie will be working on Destiny 2  for years to come, giving it plenty of time to sort out its issues. Server problems will always pop up occasionally, but they're relatively infrequent compared to other issues, like the typical weird AI or occasional game exploit. That, obviously, keeps Bungie on its toes in terms of issues, though, which is a good thing.

Hopefully, Destiny 2's  server issues are solved sooner rather than later. Many Destiny 2  fans are replaying old content before it enters the Destiny 2 c ontent  b ault later this year, and there are certainly plenty of players that would like to jump back in. In the meantime, there are lots of other games out there to fill the void, whether players want a singleplayer or multiplayer experience.

Destiny 2  is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
