The Slammer is one of the few Stasis swords in Destiny 2, and while it has decent damage perks, its main attraction is the utility that it can bring to any encounter, combat or not.
This guide covers the definitive The Slammer god rolls for both PvE and PvP in Destiny 2, alongside a couple of alternative perks.
Destiny 2: How to Get the Other Half Sword
The Bungie 30th Anniversary Event introduced the Other Half Sword to Destiny 2, a play on Halo's Energy Sword, but earning it requires luck.
Destiny 2: The Slammer PvE God Roll
In PvE, The Slammer is primarily a utility sword. It still has perks that you can use for boss DPS in encounters that require swords (like the second encounter in Slavation's Edge), but so do other swords like the Falling Guillotine.

Eager Edge is one of the most popular utility perks on swords in Destiny 2. It allows you to lunge farther when using a light attack within 3 seconds of pulling out the weapon. It makes traversal more comfortable and allows you to reach places you otherwise wouldn't be able to.
Another powerful utility perk is Cold Steel---a sword version of Chill Clip. Cold Steel applies 40 stacks of slow with a light attack and 60 with a heavy attack. Just like weapons with Chill Clip, swords with Cold Steel can stun Overload and Unstoppable Champions in endgame activities.

Relentless Strikes |

Damage-wise, you want Jagged Edge paired with Swordmaster's Guard. In the third column, Relentless Strikes returns ammo to compensate for Jagged Edge's ammo reduction. Pair it with Bait and Switch for a 30% damage buff that lasts 10 seconds after you deal damage with the other two weapons.
Destiny 2: The Slammer PvP God Roll
Swords in the Crucible are mostly for fun, as they aren't as consistent at securing kills compared to machine guns and grenade launchers. You could mess around with The Slammer, but the perks aren't the best.
Here's The Slammer PvP god roll:

Jagged Edge |
Swordmaster's Guard |
Eager Edge |
Cold Steel |
Impact |
This roll is a mix of the two PvE rolls. Jagged Edge and Swordmaster's Guard are here for maximum combat efficiency. Eager Edge allows you to quickly close the distance between yourself and the enemy. Lastly, Cold Steel slows enemy movement if they're in their Super or have an overshield.
How to Get The Slammer in Destiny 2
The Slammer is a Nightfall weapon in Destiny 2, and you can get it when it's the featured weekly weapon. The Adept versions drop from Grandmaster Nightfalls, but you can get base versions from a Nightfall on any difficulty. Once you unlock it in the collections, you can focus The Slammer at Zavala for 5 Vanguard Engrams and 25,000 Glimmer, even when it's not the featured weapon.
