The Solstice event in Destiny 2 celebrates the Summer season with exclusive weapons and armor for players to collect. This event runs annually, but the first Solstice following the launch of the Edge of Fate expansion works a little differently compared to the ones that came before.
This guide covers all the things you can expect from Solstice 2025, including the rewards you can get, goodies you can collect, and activities you can expect to grind for in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2: All Glaives, Ranked
Glaives are the newest weapon archetype in Destiny 2, but which are the best? Here's how all glaives rank against each other.
Destiny 2: Solstice 2025 Event Mechanics
Unlike previous Solstice events, this one does not have a featured activity. Instead, players will be playing through the usual array of Portal activities, but with a catch: there are Solstice-specific modifiers for PvE modes and a Solstice Scorched mode for PvP, and by completing these activities, players will earn Solstice Alloys and Distorted Solstice Engrams. Dungeons and raids will also drop them.
Engrams contain event-specific weapons, while alloys are used to purchase pieces of the Lustrous armor set from Eva at the Tower. These are only available until the end of the event.
How to Farm Solstice Alloys
Completing activities with Solstice modifiers will reward Solstice Alloys based on difficulty. The best way to farm Solstice rewards is to complete short activities on the difficulty you are most comfortable with.
Solo Ops missions like Caldera and Salt Mines are great for farming, and if you want to have some fun blasting other Guardians, then the Solstice Scorched PvP mode is a good alternative.
Destiny 2: Solstice 2025 Rewards
There are three event-exclusive weapons in Solstice 2025:
- Fortunate Star: Void Precision Frame Combat Bow
- Festival Flight: Strand Area Denial Grenade Launcher
- Yeartide Apex: Solar Lightweight Frame SMG
These can drop from any activity that rewards Distorted Solstice Engrams. Alternatively, you can purchase weapon engrams or the weapons themselves from the Solstice event screen in exchange for Event Tokens. You can earn the latter by completing event missions.
Players may randomly get Holofoil versions of these weapons as they play through the Solstice event. Holofoil guns can also be claimed via the Solstice event menu.
Make sure to use the best Destiny 2 modifiers to achieve A-rank scores more easily.
Lustrous Armor Set
Solstice 2025 also features the Lustrous set, and like the previous sets from past events, pieces from this armor set will receive a glow effect once upgraded at the Solstice Forge. Apart from looking cool, the Lustrous set also comes with the following set effects:
- Photogalvanic (2): Receiving healing temporarily grants your Solar weapons increased flinch resistance, handling, and reload speed.
- Cauterize (4): Rapid final blows with Solar weapons heal you.
The two-piece Lustrous set bonus is great for PvP, and it pairs nicely with the Bushido set too. However, if you want to make a build with high self-healing without using a Solar subclass, then the four-piece bonus is a must-have.
The max tier of your Solstice loot drops depends on your Guardian Rank. Also, Lustrous armor pieces will drop from Solstice Weapon Engrams after you forge your first armor piece.
