The Ash and Iron update marks the halfway point of Destiny 2's Edge of Fate expansion. This update introduces a new mission, followed by an event activity called New Territories: Reclaim that takes place in the Plaguelands, and rewards several new weapons worthy of note. One of them is Submersion, the second combat bow to make its entry into the heavy weapon category since Desert Perpetual's release.
Submersion is a Stasis heavy combat bow in Destiny 2, and comes with the Contending Cascade Origin Trait, which boosts handling and reload speed based on the longest chain of final blows from any damage source. At high stack, final blows with the weapon itself create an elemental explosion, in this case, Stasis.
Destiny 2: Opaque Hourglass God Roll
Opaque Hourglass is the first and currently only Combat Bow in Destiny 2, so here's how to get it and what the weapon's god roll perks are.
How to Get Submersion
Players can farm for Submersion in Ash and Iron by jumping into the New Territory: Reclaim activity. Complete the introductory quest in the tower, and then the quest with Devrim, and you can start farming. In the Play Now tab of the Event, you can select the variation of the activity you want. As always, you can customize the difficulty, which will affect your scoring and the tiering of some of your loot. At the end of the activity, you will receive a Reclaim Weapon Engram, which has the chance to drop as Submersion.
You can also use 75 Event Tokens to buy a Reclaim Weapon Engram from the Event Shop.

Submersion PVE God Roll
The Rail and Bolt perks might be familiar to those who have a god roll of Opaque Hourglass from Desert Perpetual. You'll want to try and get the Tier 5 Holofoil simply for the cosmetics, as well as the variety of perks to switch between. Here's what the strongest PVE roll is for Submersion.
|
Rail |
Mag-Lev Rail |
|---|---|
|
Bolt |
Explosive Bolts |
|
Perk 1 |
Impulse Amplifier |
|
Perk 2 |
Chill Clip/Aggregate Charge |
Players will want to focus on the Velocity stat, hence the Mag-Lev Rail and Impulse Amplifier. The latter wins over Auto-Loading Holster, as it also grants a decent boost to the Reload stat. Bolt Scavenger is also a solid option, so those looking for that Tier 5 holofoil version of this weapon will want to have it in their first perk column for when needed.
The final perk column is where things get interesting, and Aggregate Charge, a brand-new perk, could potentially contend with Chill Clip. As of the writing of this guide, there isn't enough exact information on how much the damage boost for Aggregate Charge is, so it's recommended to keep a roll with it around just in case, possibly with an Auto-Loading Holster pairing for those damage rotations. With Submersion mainly a PVE weapon, no PVP god roll is worth noting at this time.
