Destiny 2: The Final Shape Review

Destiny 2's finale doesn't pull punches when it comes to providing an exciting story enriched with emotional complexion.

Yet, it’s a shame that there are some raids in Destiny 2 that players cannot experience anymore, and there are still plenty of raids and raid lairs that have been sunset, and the decision to bring them back is still unconfirmed. Hopefully, Bungie will one day bring back the best Destiny 2 raids, which can be found below.

6 Wrath of The Machine

Stop SIVA-Infused Fallen In Old Russia

destiny 2 raid season 18 reprised destiny raid king's fall wrath of the machine release legends plaguelands dreadnaught the witch queen lightfall

Encounters

Vosik, the Archpriest

Siege Engine

Aksis, Archon Prime

Guardians travel to Old Russia to end the SIVA Crisis once and for all by finding and killing Aksis, Archon Prime, the leader of the Devil Splicers. Wrath of the Machine is the only Destiny (2014) raid that is not currently in Destiny 2, and it’s a real shame since Wrath of the Machine was the final raid of the original Destiny, and easily one of the best out there.

Wrath of the Machine was expertly crafted, and players needed to battle Vosik, the Archpriest, dismantle and destroy a Siege Engine, and finally take the fight to a Fallen who has infused himself with SIVA to become a god, Aksis. The encounters were intense, and the use of SIVA is something Destiny 2 is definitely missing.

5 Leviathan

Challenge The Exiled Cabal Emperor Calus On His World-Eating Ship

Leviathan Final Raid Boss
Callus On The Leviathan

Encounters

Castellum

Royal Pools

Pleasure Gardens

The Gauntlet

Emperor Calus

After the defeat of Dominus Ghaul and the Red Legion, Guardians are invited to the exiled Cabal Emperor’s flagship, the Leviathan, where they must prove their prestige to Calus in order to seek his court. The Leviathan was Destiny 2’s first raid, and it’s a shame that players are unable to enter into this activity. The Leviathan was an interesting raid for its rotating boss rooms and the fact that the ship itself was like a HUB area, waiting for players to activate the next room.

Destiny-2-Best-Raid-Exotics,-Ranked
Destiny 2: Best Raid Exotics, Ranked

Destiny 2's best exotics come through as rewards within their challenging raids.

The Leviathanwas an intense and expansive raid that had players teaming up to face ghastly challenges. Plenty of bosses feature in the Leviathan raid, as do encounters that change up the pace from simply killing an enemy with a large health pool. The Leviathan raid was great fun and an incredible taste of potential for Destiny 2 raids.

4 Scourge Of The Past

Defend The Last City From Fallen Who Have Unlocked A Black Armory Arsenal

Insurrection Prime Devastating A Fireteam
Insurrection Prime In The Middle oF The Battle Arena

Encounters

The Holomap

Ablazed Glory

Insurrection Prime

Guardians must stop the Fallen of the Kell’s Scourge from utilizing lost weapons and power from a Black Armory vault, which has seen Fallen infiltrate an abandoned part of the Last City. A Destiny 2 raid that was added for Season of the Forge, Scourge of the Past was involved in the game for just under 2 years before it was removed, but there is always potential for it to come back, especially with how fun it was.

Scourge of the Past might not have been the longest raid in Destiny 2 history, but the fact that it was set inside the Last City opened further pathways for exploration and mystery into humanity’s refuge. The bosses themselves were pretty fun, as Insurrection Prime had incredible power that could make short work of unfamiliar Guardians due to the tank-like nuclear arsenal of this Fallen Brig.

3 Crown of Sorrow

Destroy The Hive Infestation Festering On The Leviathan

Gahlran Crown of Sorrow
Gahlran Crown of Sorrow

Encounters

Witch's Ritual

The Bridge

Gahlran's Deception

Gahlran, The Sorrow-Bearer

Guardians return to the Leviathan once more to cull the Hive infestation, led by Gahlran, the Sorrow-Bearer, who has developed a lust for power thanks to the Crown of Sorrow affixed upon his head. Crown of Sorrow was not a Raid Lair on the Leviathan, but instead another fully-fledged raid introduced in Season of Opulence. However, it only lasted just over a year before it was sunset.

Destiny-2-10-Best-Exotic-Armor-For-Titans
Destiny 2: 10 Best Exotic Armor For Titans

Titans can become even stronger in Destiny 2 by using some of the game's best exotic Titan armor. Here's what players should get asap for their Titan.

In Crown of Sorrow, players will face off against Hive in a raid that isn’t afraid to get scary, yet, the problem with Crown of Sorrow lies in completion. Once players had mastered the mechanics, it was a fairly easy raid, which makes even more of a case for why it should return for New Light players to enjoy.

2 Eater Of Worlds

Eradicate A Vex Mind Trapped In The Leviathan's Engine

Argos Hiding Behind His Shields
Argos Floating Above The Arena

Encounters

Defeat Loyalists

Break The Barrier

Argos, Planetary Core

Explore the bowels of the Leviathan’s engine in search of a captured Vex mind that threatens Calus’ flagship. Introduced as part of the Curse of Osiris DLC, Eater of Worlds featured a new route for raids in the form of Raid Lairs. Eater of Worlds began this new direction, and it featured somewhat shorter raids all set on the gigantic Leviathan that would further enhance the story of this ship, and build relations with the mysterious exiled Emperor Calus.

Inside the raid, players had to clear out Vex hordes that had found themselves trapped within the Leviathan’s core. Eater of Worlds is a tad on the shorter side, and definitely on the easier side. It was more of a glorified strike, but still a lot of fun that deserves to come back.

1 Spire of Stars

Stop A Cabal Insurrection From Taking Hold Of The Leviathan

val ca'uor from spire of the stars raid lair

Encounters

Statue Garden

Repel the Assault

Val Ca'uor

Emperor Calus once again ignites interest in working with Guardians to board the Leviathan and take out Val Ca’uor, a Red Legion Cabal who has sought to invade and utilize this grand-scale ship. Spire of the Stars was introduced as part of the Warmind expansion, and it featured a battle against Cabal once again. Spire of the Stars deserves to come back simply for content’s sake on the Leviathan, but it’s definitely not the best raid.

As yet another Raid Lair, Spire of the Stars was pretty short, and players could easily complete this in under an hour with an efficient team. The mechanics for Spire of the Stars were simple, but they did require every player to pull their own weight, which might frustrate Fireteams where there is little room for error.
