Summary
- Many fans believe certain Destiny subclasses, like Behemoth, need new abilities to refresh gameplay.
- One talented player has designed custom super abilities and concepts for Destiny 2, aimed at enhancing gameplay.
- The custom supers include many interesting ideas, like grabbing a bolt of lightning from the air or shooting void darts at foes.
Destiny 2's subclasses could always benefit from the addition of some new super abilities, and one creative member of the MMO's community recently shared a variety of awesome custom ability and super concepts that they believe would breathe new life into various aspects of gameplay. It's nothing new for Destiny 2 enthusiasts to come up with their own ideas for new Guardian abilities, and with the game's Prismatic subclass due to evolve in the future with the additions of new abilities, it's clear that there's plenty of room for the game's ability sandbox to grow in creative ways.
There's a lot more to Destiny 2's gameplay than its abundance of raw firepower, of course, with the combining and mastering of abilities in Destiny 2 being the key to what makes the game's combat feel so satisfying. While players are frequently treated to new varieties of guns to seek out, the development and implementation of new Guardian abilities is usually a process carried out over a long period of time. New abilities are usually packaged with each major expansion, though the Prismatic subclass introduced in The Final Shape has laid a foundation which the developers intend to build on continuously in the future.
Destiny 2 Announces Major Changes for the Crucible
Bungie reveals major changes coming to the PvP modes of Destiny 2's Crucible, while also teasing new content launching with Episode: Revenant.
The Prismatic system allows players to mix and match a variety of abilities from different subclasses, and totally new supers and abilities could certainly be integrated into it going forward. Many fans have dreamed up countless concepts for new abilities throughout the past decade of Destiny, with a fan named justayellowbrick recently offering some ideas of their own. A social media post shared online by this player shows off a mix of conceptual super abilities and regular abilities for all three classes demonstrated in rough sketches.
These Custom Destiny 2 Abilities Would Open Up Exciting New Ways to Play
From a rework of the Hunter's Combination Blow which would allow players to throw a fast volley of punches to a new Shadebinder super that involves slamming a staff into the ground to destroy nearby enemies like Gandalf the Grey, there are a lot of fantastic ideas packaged in the post. While some of the concepts are inevitably quite reminiscent of existing Destiny 2 abilities, the designer also suggested some which are unlike anything currently in the game, such as a Golden Gun shot which sparks a fire that grants heavy ammo to any nearby allies.
It goes without saying that Destiny 2 has limitless potential when it comes to adding fun new methods of annihilating monsters, though many fans feel as though some of Destiny 2's subclasses are in particular need of new supers and abilities. The Titan's Behemoth subclass, for instance, is typically viewed as quite a stale one due to the limited gameplay options it provides, so it would certainly benefit from some of the many Stasis ability concepts shared by fans in the past.
