Destiny 2: The Final Shape Missions List

Despite its rocky launch, Destiny 2: The Final Shape received near-universal acclaim for its campaign, rivaling that of The Witch Queen and Forsaken, and vastly overshadowing Lightfall. Even those who don't care much about the story have a lot to enjoy, from its action-packed arenas and the dungeon-like mechanics peppering its levels.

The journey into the Pale Heart sets the stage for the future of the game. Players will have to finish the campaign and make all the necessary preparations if they want to fight the witness in the final raid of Destiny 2's Light and Dark saga. All Missions In Destiny 2: The Final Shape

There's a total of eight missions in The Final Shape's main campaign, and they're spread across 34 steps in total. Note that just like in the Destiny 2 Witch Queen's main quest chain, these steps include simple actions like visiting an area, interacting with an object, or talking to an NPC. This doesn't necessarily mean that there are 34 missions to play through.

Destiny 2's Excision mission was enabled shortly after the world's first race for the Salvation's Edge raid. It is the game's first 12-player activity, and it serves as the finale of the Light and Dark saga. After finishing the campaign, you can find Excision to the far right side of the map screen while inside the Pale Heart.

How Long To Beat The Final Shape Campaign

Players can expect The Final Shape's campaign to last about 9–12 hours depending on player skill and difficulty setting. Legend campaigns will naturally take longer due to every enemy being tankier than usual, and the higher risk of failure can lead to many more retries. There are also secrets scattered around some of the campaign levels, which can lead to more hours overall for completionists.

However, the campaign is not the end of The Final Shape's offerings. Players still have a lot to do as they prepare to take down the Witness. Once the campaign is over, the Pale Heart will become fully open, presenting players with new events, Lost Sectors, and other challenges where they can gain more power. This is where most of the exotics from the trailers become available, including the Still Hunt Sniper Rifle and Microcosm.
