Third Iteration comes in hot as one of the best Exotics to release as part of Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate, but acquiring it and the catalyst might not be something every player is aware of, and they also might not know how to enjoy its OP stats before the inevitable nerf from Bungie hits. Third Iteration hits hard, and with its catalyst, it can hit even harder. Look below to find out how to get the Third Iteration in Destiny 2, along with the catalyst, and the Artifact Perks that will turn the Third Iteration into an unstoppable killing machine before Bungie fixes this bugged gun.
Destiny 2: Desert Perpetual Loot Table
Players can check in here to see all Desert Perpetual Raid loot in Destiny 2, and which encounters to get them in.
How to Get the Third Iteration in Destiny 2
If players have the Reclamation Season Pass, which is activated upon purchasing The Edge of Fate expansion, players can access the Rewards Pass tab from the Director, and they will be able to get the Third Iteration Exotic Scout Rifle on the 1st tier reward from the paid track. However, players do not need The Edge of Fate to get this gun, as the Third Iteration is a free reward once players hit Level 70.
How to Get the Third Iteration Catalyst in Destiny 2
The Third Iteration catalyst is unlocked by hitting Level 90 in the Season: Reclamation pass. This is free for all players, regardless of whether they have purchased The Edge of Fate expansion or not. Players can equip the Catalyst from the Third Iteration preview, and then to activate the Catalyst, they will need 700 eliminations. Here's a look at what the Third Iteration Catalyst does:
- Aberrant Combustion: Precision final blows with Amalgamation Rounds cause the target to detonate into a weakening blast.
How to Make the Third Iteration OP in Destiny 2
Third Iteration is a pretty good Exotic Scout Rifle, but it currently has a glitch that makes it deal 3x damage. If players equip the Anti-Barrier Scout and Pulse Artifact Mod, they will receive an absurdly high damage buff when they hold aim on a target to get the Amalgamation Rounds buff, and then shoot. This reduces the spread of the Void energy projectiles fired to provide more damage.
