A player impressed the Titanfall 2 fan contingent within Destiny 2's player base with a stunningly accurate recreation of the Cloak Pilot. Using parts for a Destiny 2 Hunter Guardian, they precisely replicated the appearance and even weaponry of an in-game Titanfall 2 character.
Though it's more than a decade old at this point and seemingly has little chance of seeing a continuation, the Titanfall series continues to have a strong hold on its fans. The game's intoxicating mix of high-speed mobility mechanics and massive Titan battle robots cemented it as a truly unique sci-fi shooter with few direct peers. Even though developer Respawn Entertainment hasn't officially announced any plans to continue the series, Titanfall lore lives on in the margins and background of Apex Legends.
Destiny 2 Player Shares Awesome Iron Man Outfit
One Destiny 2 fashion enthusiast designs an impressive Iron Man outfit using several new armor ornaments available via Eververse.
It also lives on in the hearts of fans who are busy playing other games, like Destiny 2. That much was shown by player fsdogdad in the form of a highly accurate rendition of a Titanfall 2 Cloak Pilot using the versatile Destiny 2 transmog system. Also known as Armor Customization, transmog allows players to make their equipped armor look like any other armor they have access to. Given the massive trove of armor pieces Destiny 2 has amassed over the years, veteran players have all the options they need to recreate many of their favorite characters, or just turn their Destiny 2 character into a giant ear of corn.
Destiny 2 Player Recalls the Titanfall 2 Cloak Pilot In Customized Hunter Costume
Titanfall 2 Cloak Pilot Hunter Costume Parts
- Head - Icarus Drifter Mask (Long Journeys Shader)
- Arms - Lightkin Grips (Dead Zone Foliage Shader)
- Chest - Dead End Cure 2.1 (Hakke History Shader)
- Legs - Wildwood Strides (Hakke History Shader)
- Class Item - Lightkin Cloak (Dead Zone Foliage Shader)
Fsdogdad's Titanfall 2 costume uses a mix of tactical-style Hunter Huardian pieces, but is centered mostly around the use of the Legendary Icarus Drifter Mask. The mask has a unique X-pattern on its visor, replicating the telltale visor lights distinguishing Titanfall Pilots from regular NPC troops. Similarly, in Titanfall 2, a Pilot's appearance is modified by their choice of Tactical Ability, and choosing the Cloak ability gives the player a ghillie-suit-style camouflage covering. This function is replicated using the Hunter's Lightkin cloak.
Players praised fsdogdad for the "1:1 recreation," with some noting that they went "above and beyond" by including suggested weapon shaders to best capture the look of a Titanfall pilot within Destiny 2. Others nostalgically recalled their appreciation for Titanfall's tactical sci-fi aesthetic. This look has spread to many other shooters in the wake of the original game's launch, and players are even expressing their desire for more Titanfall-like visual elements via fan-created work like customized Destiny 2 armor concepts.
