There's a lot of anticipation and excitement within the Destiny 2 community as of late. After some initial concerns over the game following the Marathon gameplay reveal, Bungie confirmed the next Destiny 2 expansion as The Edge of Fate, which is the start of the upcoming Codename: Frontiers era. Better yet, Bungie will be revealing Edge of Fate in a new livestream, set for May 6. In the meantime, Bungie continues to update the core game for those still playing the current episode.
Destiny 2's Expansions Shouldn't Miss the Chance to Pull One Character Off the Bench
Frontiers is a fresh beginning for Destiny 2 that takes players beyond the solar system, and one character would be perfect to lead this story.
Bungie released a new update for Destiny 2, making a major change to the Court of Blades activity. Recently, players have been providing Bungie ample feedback on Destiny 2's Court of Blades activity, specifically about the Lucent Hive being harder than other boss characters in the Expert rotator. In response, Bungie has reduced the health of Lucent Hive Guardian bosses and disabled their supers until they're below 33% health, while Lucent Hive knights have been outright removed from the randomized fodder selection on Expert to prevent unintended difficulty spikes.
Alongside the COurt of Blade change, Bungie also fixed a couple of issues with Rocket Sidearms and Support Frame Auto Rifles, with the former now being able to self-damage the user again, and the latter having their intrinsic elemental effects applied during Destiny 2's Sundered Doctrine's second encounter once again.
As Bungie transitions to a full-time two-game studio, there are some fans concerned that the divided attention between two live-service games may ultimately hurt Destiny 2's future. Since the reveal, Marathon game director Joe Ziegler has continued to clarify that Bungie isn't replacing Destiny 2 and the game has a future. Thankfully, that has proven true with Bungie's announcement of The Edge of Fate days later, signaling the start of a new era for the long-running title.
