With the introduction of the exotic mission weekly rotator in Destiny 2, players are finally able to farm for the weapons and armor that were introduced in previous seasons. However, given the time-gated nature of this new feature, Guardians will have to plan their weeks out according to the gear they want to grind for.
Destiny 2 Announces Upcoming Midseason Exotic Armor Changes
Bungie reveals two exotic armor pieces that are getting major adjustments when the big midseason update arrives for Destiny 2.
The Vox Obscura mission from Destiny 2 Season 16 rewards players with a craftable version of the 
Dead Messenger Exotic Grenade Launcher as well as the rest of the Cabal-themed items from Season of the Risen, which includes one of the best Rapid-Fire Frame Pulse Rifles and Assault Rifles in the game. Here's the complete loot table for this rotating exotic mission.

Completing Vox Obscura for the first time rewards players with a Deepsight Dead Messenger that can be activated immediately to unlock the weapon for crafting at the Enclave. Further completions of the mission on Normal or Legend difficulty unlock Intrinsic upgrades in the crafting screen. Completions on Legend difficulty additionally unlock Catalyst upgrades. This unlocking scheme applies to all craftable exotics in the mission rotator.
The Dead Messenger is an Exotic Wave-Frame GL that shoots projectiles that create three energy waves in a fork pattern. It also has The Fundamentals Intrinsic Trait, which lets players change the Dead Messenger's elemental damage type between Solar, Arc, and Void. The weapon's catalyst adds the Turnabout perk, which grants the user an Overshield when they break a matching shield type or a Guardian's shield.
Exotic missions on the rotator also drop legendary gear from their respective seasons. In this case, it's the Cabal-themed guns and armor, including Deepsight variants of the weapons. Among all the firearms listed above, Sweet Sorrow, Piece of Mind, Under Your Skin, and Explosive Personality are the must-have items. Players also have a chance to get Season of the Risen's armor pieces.
Once a week, players will get one Deepsight weapon for a gun they haven't unlocked the crafting pattern for yet. Further completions will drop more weapons, but Deepsight borders are no longer guaranteed. Since the rotator changes missions every week, players only have two chances to get guaranteed legendary Deepsight drops: one for completing the mission on Normal mode and once again for completing it on Legend.
