For those wondering what's going to happen to Destiny 2, especially with Codename: Frontiers scheduled to begin in a few months, the studio is finally ready to share some news. A new Destiny 2 livestream was announced and plans to reveal details on the next expansion, which fans now know as The Edge of Fate.
Destiny 2's Expansions Shouldn't Miss the Chance to Pull One Character Off the Bench
Frontiers is a fresh beginning for Destiny 2 that takes players beyond the solar system, and one character would be perfect to lead this story.
It's also time to talk about the exotic merchant Xur, who has returned with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of April 18, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there's no more hunting when the weekend comes around.
Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are hanging out and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley hiding Xur is to the right.
Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

A former powerhouse exotic that has seen its fair share of nerfs over the years. It's still a solid exotic item for knife throwing/Blade Barrage gunslingers, but is likely more effective in PvE style activities these days.

An SMG-specific exotic that is a solid choice for PvP-style modes, though there are much better options available within the game currently.
