Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Change is upon Destiny 2 as longtime Bungie CEO Pete Parsons announced his retirement from the company. In his place will be a 15-year Bungie veteran, Justin Truman, who has worn many hats at the company, from being an engineer, designer, to General Manager for Destiny 2 as well as Chief Development Officer.
In addition to studio changes, Bungie also revealed upcoming changes to Destiny 2 alongside the Ash & Iron update in September. While the studio previously teased buffs for Destiny 2's Warlock class, this recent blog post was a bit more controversial with planned changes to the Portal, including nerfs to the Solo Ops playlist where drops will be lower in power to encourage players to engage more with Fireteam and Pinnacle Ops.
Destiny 2 Weekly Reset: New Activities, Challenges, and Rewards
The weekly reset for Destiny 2 is live and here are all of the new details including activity rotations, seasonal challenges, and much more.
For now, the weekend merchant Xur is back with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of August 15, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there's no more hunting when the weekend comes around.
Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley is to the right, where Xur is standing.
Destiny 2 Class Armor
Starting with the Edge of Fate expansion, Xur's role in the Tower has expanded a bit. While Xur no longer carries legendary armor, the merchant has increased his exotic offering by selling two pieces of gear for each class each week. Xur's new Destiny 2 inventory can still be found at the Tower Bazaar.
