Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. It's been a week of change and transition for Bungie as longtime Bungie CEO Pete Parsons announced his retirement from the company on August 22. Stepping up to lead the company is 15-year Bungie veteran, Justin Truman, who players are hoping will lead the studio and games like Destiny 2 into a bright future.
Unfortunately, things got off to a less-than-ideal start after Bungie later announced its plans for the Portal. While promising buffs to Pinnacle and Fireteam Ops playlists, the studio announced some controversial changes, like nerfing the rewards earned from running Solo Ops, leaving Destiny 2 fans frustrated and very vocal against such a move. Bungie has since announced its intention to scrap those plans, and instead find ways to make the game more rewarding for all players.
Destiny 2 Weekly Reset: New Activities, Challenges, and Rewards
The weekly reset for Destiny 2 is live and here are all of the new details including activity rotations, seasonal challenges, and much more.
In the meantime, the weekend merchant Xur is back with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of August 29, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there's no more hunting when the weekend comes around.
Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley is to the right, where Xur is standing.
Destiny 2 Class Armor
Starting with the Edge of Fate expansion, Xur's role in the Tower has expanded a bit. While Xur no longer carries legendary armor, the merchant has increased his exotic offering by selling two pieces of gear for each class each week. Xur's new Destiny 2 inventory can still be found at the Tower Bazaar.

You deal extra damage to marked targets, and gain additional bonus damage with weapons that have a damage type matching your equipped Super. Tight Fit
- Dodging instantly reloads all your weapons and grants increased reload and handling to you and nearby allies. While the buff is active, additional dodges increase the buff strength and refresh the timer, maxing out at 5 stacks. Dealing sustained damage grants class ability energy.
