Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. The countdown is on as the launch of Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate is right around the corner. BUngie continues to reveal new gameplay and sandbox changes coming alongside the release, which aims to really shake up many of the core Destiny 2 foundations.
Specifically, Bungie is planning to balance its weapons, which also means many exotics are getting buffed as well. For Edge of Fate, Destiny 2 is providing buffs to overlooked exotics, including Wicked Implement, Heartshadow, and more. In fact, Hierarchy of Needs is getting a number of changes to make it more flexible to use, while also getting a Gjallarhorn style buff where any allied bow user can take advantage of the Guidance Ring.
Destiny 2 Weekly Reset: New Activities, Challenges, and Rewards
The weekly reset for Destiny 2 is live and here are all of the new details including activity rotations, seasonal challenges, and much more.
For now, the weekend merchant Xur is back with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of July 11, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there's no more hunting when the weekend comes around.
Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley is to the right, where Xur is standing.
Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Exotic Perk:
- Sect of Force - Rapid precision hits provide quicker reload and weapon swap speeds for 10 seconds. Stunning a Champion or rapid precision hits against Champions, elites, or minibosses will mark them for allies and give them a 20% damage increase. Non-Sect of Force equipped allies gain grenade and melee energy.
- Sect of Insight - Gives a chance to drop an orb of power after precision weapon takedowns, special ammo for elite takedowns, and heavy for boss takedowns. Aeon Cult allies for do not have Sect of Insight equipped gain a burst of Super energy.
- Sect of Vigor - Provides damage resistance against combatants when an ally dies or is resurrected. Casting the player's Super gives nearby critically wounded allies damage resistance from combatants. Nearby Aeon Cult allies who do not have the Sect of Vigor role equipped will also recover class ability energy more quickly.
