Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. It's been a difficult week for Bungie in general, as the studio was outed for stealing art for Marathon, which has led to all sorts of backlash from fans as well as former employees. Not only have former Destiny 2 employees alleged a toxic work culture at the studio, but they've also claimed that greed was the primary motivation for microtransactions being added.
While not nearly as harmful, additional backlash from fans ultimately led to Bungie making major changes to Destiny 2's Rite of the Nine event. Fans discovered that dungeons were on a three week rotation schedule, which brought back into question the controversial policy of timegating content. Bungie reduced the rotation schedule, increased resource drops, and also announced a special lootapalooza for all three dungeons to double drop rates.

With the weekend finally here, the exotic merchant Xur has returned with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of May 23, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there's no more hunting when the weekend comes around.
Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are hanging out and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley hiding Xur is to the right.
Destiny 2 Exotic Class Armor
Xur's role has continued to expand and evolve over the years. Alongside The Final Shape expansion, Xur's inventory in Destiny 2 expanded even more, moving back to Strange Coins as the currency of choice, rank rewards, resources, and of course, armor and weapons.

- Immediately regenerate health, melee, grenade, and Rift energy for you and your nearby allies upon activating your Super. After your Super ends, temporarily gain greatly increased melee and grenade regen.
A tough one to recommend all around this week as the roll is very low. Save the strange coins this week.

Great exotics for platforming-related activities. All Hunters should have a pair of these, so for those who don't, these are worth picking up.

Auto-Loading Link
- Steadily reloads a portion of your equipped Auto Rifle's or Machine Gun's magazine from reserves. Provides a moderate benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of Auto Rifles and Machine Guns.
A strong PvE exotic for those who enjoy using Auto Rifles or Machine Guns. Everyone else need not apply here. The one knock this week is the overly high mobility stat.
