Xur has returned again to Destiny 2, complete with new exotic and legendary gear for players to check out for a limited time. Answers finally came this week for fans as Bungie revealed its future plans, pulling the curtain back not only on the upcoming Edge of Fate expansion, but providing a roadmap for the entire Destiny 2 Year of Prophecy.
In the near term, however, Bungie is set to launch the Heavy Metal event for Destiny 2, adding a unique new game mode into the PvP Crucible. Alongside the Brigs and Drakes, Bungie is also launching the Event Home feature, designed to replace the old Event Card systems for this game mode as well as all future seasonal events like Guardian Games and Festival of the Lost to name a few.

With the weekend finally here, the exotic merchant Xur has returned with a new inventory of gear for Destiny 2 players. Follow this guide for his current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he's brought for the weekend of May 9, 2025.
Where is Xur?
Xur has now taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area inside The Tower, so there's no more hunting when the weekend comes around.
Since the Bazaar is located between both fast travel points, players can pick either one to load into. Head into the area where Ikora and Hawthorne are hanging out and look for the Ramen Shop towards the back wall. While facing the shop, the alley hiding Xur is to the right.
Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur's role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.

Tome of Dawn
- While you have a Solar super equipped, aiming weapons while you're midair suspends you there for a short time, reducing incoming flinch and granting damage resistance. Weapon hits extend this effect's duration, and weapon final blows reload your Solar weapons from reserves. Provides a large benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.
Certainly has its uses for Solar Warlocks, but there are much better options available. Being suspended in the air for all to see isn't always the best strategy and, besides all of that, the stat roll isn't great with high mobility.

Knucklehead Radar - Hunter helmet

Upgraded Sensor Pack
- Provides radar while you're aiming. Enhances your radar resolution while crouched. Visually marks targets. Deals more damage to low-health marked targets. Provides a small benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.
An ideal PvP exotic. Worth grabbing for those who don't already have it, though keep in mind it doesn't offer much value in PvE activities.

Peregrine Greaves - Titan leg armor

Peregrine Strike
- All shoulder charge abilities (Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash) deal bonus damage when activated in the air. Damaging mini-bosses, Tormentors, or Champions with your shoulder charge refunds your melee. Provides a small benefit to the airborne effectiveness stat of all weapons.
A great choice for players who want to hit things continuously. The roll this week is pretty favorable as well, with Strength being the highest stat.
