The 2023 Direct also featured plenty of gags, including a presentation from a fake company called Volv-E that builds games without any human developers. This is an established approach from Devolver Digital, so fans can expect more comedic relief during the publisher's next event.

The slightly unsettling video builds hype for the fifteenth birthday of Devolver's mascot Volvy, who "returned" last year as another one of the studio's jokes. The event takes place on June 7 at 8 PM ET, when Devolver promises that fans can celebrate the mascot's birthday "without anything weird happening." In addition to the likely lineup of gags that Devolver has planned, the publisher also intends to share updates on its games that are in development. While the event's lineup hasn't been revealed, possible candidates include unreleased titles such as Human: Fall Flat 2, Anger Foot, Neva, and The Plucky Squire.
