The first season of Devil May Cry [2025] was released on April 3, and in the week since its premiere, it has featured in Netflix's Top 10, ranking fourth at its debut. The series managed to crack Netflix's Top 10 in a whopping 87 territories, which is indicative of its rousing success. As mentioned previously, the 2025 Devil May Cry anime is a project by Castlevania showrunner Adi Shankar, with animation production by Seoul-based Studio MIR, which has been behind a number of highly successful animated projects from the US, Korea and Japan, including The Boondocks and the anime adaptation of Park Tae Joon's LOOKISM.

The Devil May Cry anime is based on the video games of the same name developed by Capcom, and in this anime, the story follows the demon-hunter-for-hire Dante as he is caught in the middle of a sinister plot to rip open the portal between the human world and the demon realm, with a terrorist known simply as "The White Rabbit" looking to exact revenge on humanity.
