Friday, July 11 is going to be a big day for Dexter fans, as that's when the first two episodes of Dexter: Resurrection will hit the Paramount+ streaming service. Dexter fans have certainly experienced their ups and downs with the franchise. While the first four seasons of the original Dexter TV series earned widespread critical acclaim, later seasons weren't nearly as well-received. The series finale was infamously hated by Dexter fans, which ultimately led to it being brought back as Dexter: New Blood.
Views on Dexter: New Blood were mixed. While some Dexter fans enjoyed seeing the story continue, others felt that the show failed to live up to the high expectations set by the original's earlier seasons. Dexter: Original Sin, meanwhile, has been generally well-received by fans and critics alike as a solid prequel with great performances, and soon there will be even more for Dexter fans to sink their teeth into.
Dexter: Resurrection's Cast Will Include An Unexpected Series Original And May Resolve A Huge Issue
Dexter EP confirms that another original cast member, aside from John Lithgow and Jimmy Smits, is joining Dexter: Resurrection.
Dexter: Resurrection, the sequel series that takes place after the original show, New Blood, and Original Sin, is scheduled to premiere Friday, July 11 on Paramount+ with its first two episodes. Dexter: Resurrection will continue the story where New Blood left off and see the return of some fan-favorite characters from previous shows. It's unclear if there will be more seasons of Dexter: Resurrection, but that is the intention.
When is the Dexter: Resurrection Release Date?
- Friday, July 11 on Paramount+
Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 will feature 10 episodes by the time it's all said and done. The two-episode premiere will be followed by one new episode a week until the finale airs on September 5. Needless to say, anyone that considers themselves a Dexter fan will definitely want to make sure that they sign up for Paramount+ so they can watch it in its entirety.
Dexter fans have more reasons to sign up for Paramount+ besides the new Resurrection show. Dexter has been removed from Netflix, meaning that the only place to stream it now is Paramount+. A Paramount+ subscription will get subscribers access to all eight seasons of the original Dexter series, New Blood, Original Sin, and soon Resurrection and the second season of Original Sin. There is clearly still a great deal of interest in the Dexter universe, and it will be exciting to see how it expands moving forward.
