He is also shown admitting he doesn't care about being careful anymore, and given how many people died at his hands when he was trying not to be caught, Dexter: Resurrection might end up being a bloodbath.

If Batista does honestly know that Dexter is the Bay Harbor Butcher, then he will be putting Dexter in a dangerous situation, given that Batista is a member of the police force. If Batista does catch him, then Dexter will be arrested for his actions, which could lead to more details coming out, such as the fact that he was involved in the death of Batista's close friend and ex-wife, Maria LaGuerta.
Dexter: Resurrection will need to have a significant moment to spark the interest of fans shockingly, and after how many kills people have seen him make, that's not an easy thing to achieve. However, murdering an original character who fans thought was a friend of Dexter's would tick that box. Seeing Dexter kill Batista would be an emotional moment for everyone, considering how beloved Batista is as a character.
