The Dexter-verse is set to expand with the release of the spin-off series, Resurrection, in July, and it'll pick up a few weeks after the end of the limited series, New Blood. Hot off the heels of the prequel series, Original Sin, which aired earlier this year, Resurrection will see Dexter surviving his near-death injuries and heading to New York City to mend his relationship with his son, Harrison. The synopsis reads:
Dexter: Resurrection takes place weeks after Dexter Morgan takes a bullet to the chest from his own son, as he awakens from a coma to find Harrison (Jack Alcott) gone without a trace. Realizing the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City, determined to find him and make things right. But closure won’t come easy. When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast. As father and son navigate their own darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined, and that the only way out is together.

Dexter: Resurrection's Trailer Will Probably Be A Teaser With A Full-Length Version To Arrive Closer To The Release Date
Dexter: Resurrection showrunner, Clyde Phillips, executive producer Scott Reynolds, Michael C. Hall and David Zayas will attend the very first panel to promote the new series, at CCXP Mexico on May 31. This event will reveal new footage from Resurrection, while the creative team discuss the new series. The trailer that looks almost certain to arrive on the same day will probably be a teaser to whet fans' appetites, with more substantial footage set to follow later on. The 2025 San Diego Comic Con will take place in July, and this could be when fans are given a full trailer.
Last year at San Diego Comic Con, Michael C. Hall made a very special guest appearance at the Dexter: Original Sin panel to announce his return in Dexter: Resurrection, which took fans by surprise, as the titular serial killer supposedly died at the end of New Blood. One year later, filming is nearly completed on the new series, and Resurrection will hit television screens in just under two months' time. Original Sin's opening sequence saw Dexter Morgan being rushed to hospital after his near-fatal shooting, and Michael C. Hall provided the narration for the prequel series, as Dexter's life flashed before his eyes. It hasn't been confirmed if Resurrection will feature Hall's dulcit tones once again, but it would be very strange if it didn't. New Blood became Showtime's biggest ever hit, and when they merged with Paramount, it was inevitable that the iconic killer with a code would make a return. However, Clyde Phillips revealed during a Reddit AMA that it was Michael C. Hall who ultimately facilitated a return for Dexter:
We decided to bring the character back because Michael C. Hall came to me and said "I want to keep going. Can you figure out how to 'unkill me'?" My first phone call was to Scott, and he felt the same way. It was off of Michael wanting to continue, and we figured out how to do it.
They certainly did figure out how to 'unkill' him, as Dexter is very much alive in Resurrection's timeline, and fans can't wait to see what he gets up to.
