Diablo 3 has announced a new single-player mode coming in the next major update. While the Diablo community's attention is on Diablo 4, the latest entry in the franchise, Diablo 3 still receives semi-frequent updates to keep itself moving forward with new content.
It's been a long road since Diablo 3 launched in 2013 and brought players another chapter in the franchise's saga. Set 20 years after the events of Diablo 2, Diablo 3 players help Archangel Tyrael recover his lost memories and face demonic forces to save Sanctuary. Diablo 3 had a rocky launch, facing a major controversy with the Auction House. Eventually, Diablo 3 found its pace with the introduction of the seasonal format, allowing players to enjoy the game for years. And for the next update, Diablo 3 players have something extra special to look forward to.
Diablo 3 has announced Patch 2.7.6 PTR and the introduction of the new Solo Self Found single-player mode. The update will be available starting August 15 on the Diablo 3 test server. In Solo Self-Found mode, players can play Diablo 3's Adventure Mode and Campaign by themselves and will have no access to the game's multiplayer components. The only exception will be the Rebirth feature, which Diablo 3 will keep available in Solo Self Found mode. In addition, this mode will have a specific leaderboard, which will work like the leaderboards of other Diablo 3 modes.
On the official Diablo 3 website, the devs commented that the single-player mode was something that was highly requested by players. But this isn't the only new feature of the update, as Patch 2.7.6 PTR will make balance adjustments to some Diablo 3 classes, bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and the highly requested Paragon Cap. After Diablo 3 released Season 28 in February, Patch 2.7.6 PTR revealed that the theme of Season 29 will be "Visions of Enmity" and gave some details of what will be the final Diablo 3 season.
With Diablo 3 Season 29 pitched as the final season, the developers move on to focus on Diablo 4. While Diablo 3 Season 29 doesn't have a release date, the official website states that the season will end on the PTR on August 29. With this, there is an expectation for Diablo 3 season 29 to start in the first half of September.
Diablo 3 is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
