According to the game's achievement stats, the most popular class in Diablo 4 is the Sorcerer, while the least popular is the Druid. Diablo 4 has been out for a couple of weeks now, giving action-RPG fans plenty of time to explore Sanctuary, clear its many dungeons, and try out all five of the launch classes.

Diablo 4 has five classes for action-RPG fans to choose from at launch: Sorcerer, Druid, Rogue, Barbarian, and Necromancer. Hardcore fans that participated in the Diablo 4 beta tests were able to try out the different classes ahead of time, which likely informed their decision when deciding which class to start with in the full game. In any case, each class has an achievement tied to them that can be unlocked within a couple of hours, and these achievement unlock statistics reveal the most popular and least popular classes in the game.

As revealed by the unlock rates for Diablo 4's achievements, the Druid class is the least popular class in the game, with only 12.25% of Xbox gamers choosing it and progressing far enough to get its Shifty Swipes achievement. Barbarian is the second-least popular class, with a 14.33% unlock rate. The Diablo 4 Necromancer class finds itself dead-center with a 25.25% unlock rate. Rogue is slightly ahead with 25.55%. By far the most popular class in Diablo 4 is Sorcerer, with 31.34%.

Diablo 4 Classes Ranked

Diablo 4 Classes
  1. Sorcerer - 31.34%
  2. Rogue - 25.55%
  3. Necromancer - 25.25%
  4. Barbarian - 14.33%
  5. Druid - 12.25%

The Diablo 4 achievement stats match up with Blizzard's claim that the Sorcerer is the most popular class in Diablo 4. It's possible that Necromancer and Rogue could one day overtake it, but that doesn't seem likely. In the meantime, one has to imagine that the negativity surrounding the Diablo 4 Druid during the testing phases played a role in players deciding to skip it and choose a different kind of character in the full game. Blizzard has since improved the Druid class based on fan feedback, but it seems many fans were still not thrilled at the idea of playing one in Diablo 4.

Rumor has it that Diablo 4 has more classes on the way, with Blizzard potentially adding them to the action-RPG alongside DLC expansions at some point down the road. Nothing official to that effect has been announced at the time of this writing, but even when those new classes are added, they are unlikely to shake things up too much. The middle spots might swap, but it seems like Sorcerer is a lock for most popular Diablo 4 class while Druid will be known as the least popular class in the game.

Diablo 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
