Summary

  • Diablo 4 recently collaborated with Cantrip Candles to release a limited number of Mother's Day candles for fans.
  • The physical candles are already gone, but players can still head to the collaboration website to generate a random scent for free.
  • While some of the scents are nice, like vanilla and oak, some are terrible, such as maggots, crushed eyes, and vomit.

Diablo 4 recently teamed up with Cantrip Candles for Mother’s Day with Mother’s Judgment, a free giveaway in which fans could receive mystery candles from Lilith. Though physical candles have already sold out, Diablo 4 players can still receive Mother’s Blessings or Mother’s Wrath with randomly-generated candle scents on the companion website.

Recently, Diablo 4 teased a collaboration with Cantrip Candles, a small business known for making scented candles inspired by Dungeons and Dragons and other fantasy settings. Given its focus on candles, matchbooks, and similar items, most assumed Cantrip Candles would be releasing a line of Diablo 4-inspired products to celebrate Mother’s Day.

However, the Diablo 4 x Cantrip Candles collab was something much more unique and hilarious than fans could have expected. Mother’s Judgment was a special giveaway in which players could sign up to have a free candle delivered to them by Diablo 4's Mother of Sanctuary Lilith herself. That said, fans won’t know the scent of their special candle until they light it up. It could be a Mother’s Blessing scent like blood roses and ash, or Mother’s Wrath with notes of black death and decay.

Unfortunately, the Mother’s Judgment promotion didn’t last very long. Only 666 of these free candles were available, meaning the stock was gone in a matter of moments. Even so, players who were not lucky enough to get one of the physical Mother’s Judgment candles can receive a digital one with the click of a button on the Mother’s Judgment website, showing them what sort of Diablo 4 gift Lilith might have given them otherwise. Unlike the physical product, players can freely refresh and generate as many scents as they'd like.

According to the confirmation page, the Mother’s Judgment candles will arrive in two to four weeks. Fans should be sure to keep an eye on social media once they start shipping so they can see Mother’s Judgment in action once their fellow players light up their candles for weal or woe.

In the meantime, fans looking to score some in-game collaboration items can do so via the Diablo 4 x Berserk crossover. Transmog sets for Berserk characters like Guts, Griffith, and Skull Knight are available in the cash shop alongside the Warhorse of the Hawk Mount and Schnoz Pet bundles, and players can farm Behelits by defeating powerful enemies to unlock tons of free in-game cosmetics. With Season 8, Belial’s Return, officially live in-game as well, fans should have plenty to do in Diablo 4 while they await Mother’s Judgment.
