Diablo 4 is no stranger to secrets and easter eggs, and in Season 11, players can uncover a secret meeting between four Lesser Evils by using Purified Essences. You may have picked up one of the latter during your time in the game, but with no clear markers or clues on how or where to use them, these items are likely rotting away in your inventory.

How to Use Purified Boss Essences in Diablo 4
Beating any of the Lesser Evils during Season 11 may cause them to drop Purified Essences, which are essentially parts of the bosses themselves. Such items include:
- Purified Horn of Duriel
- Purified Eye of Belial
- Purified Claw of Andariel
- Purified Tongue of Azmodan
Unlike their Corrupted versions, which can be used to get rewards after beating Azmodan in Hawezar, Purified Essences aren't used for claiming rewards or summoning bosses. Instead, players can use them to open a portal that leads to a secret meeting place for the four Lesser Evils featured in Season 11. To do this, you need to find boss altars that are hidden across Sanctuary.
Altar of Anguish (Andariel)
Andariel's altar is found inside a cave near the edge of a waterfall northwest of the Kurast Bazaar and the Kurast Docks waypoints.
Altar of Pain (Duriel)
Duriel's altar is near a cliff edge overlooking Caldeum. The closest waypoint here is the one in Deshar, which is found southeast of the altar.
Altar of Lies
Belial's altar is in the Fractured Peaks. From the Bear Tribe Refuge waypoint, ride east until you reach the Zenith dungeon. Head further east from the dungeon's entrance to find the altar near the edge of the cliff.
Altar of Sin
Azmodan's altar is in the Hawezar region. From Zarbinzet, head northeast until you reach a bridge leading to the Lost City of Ureh. The altar should be at the northen edge of the small island between the rope bridges.
What Next?
Once you offer a Purified Essence to each of the altars, a portal should appear. Enter it, and you'll find yourself in a two-part boss fight against Andariel, Azmodan, Belial, and Duriel. You'll fight two of them at a time, though, so no need to worry about getting overwhelmed by all four of them.
