Centipede skills for the Spiritborn in Diablo 4 have received plenty of buffs since the class was released, and one particular build has proven to be very powerful for both the leveling and endgame experiences. Despite still being a Poison-based build, it can deal tons of damage in a single hit and completely wipe entire rooms within seconds.

The following guide is for a Centipede Spiritborn leveing build in Diablo 4 Season 10 that can help players cruise through the pre-Torment phase as effortlessly as possible. It takes a while before it can go fully online, but once it does, it only gets better from there.

Diablo 4 Poison Spiritborn Leveling Build

Active Skills

D4 The Devourer Spiritborn Ultimate description

Skill

Description/Notes

Sharp Withering Fist (1/5)

This skill will be your primary Vigor generator, Poison spreader, and trash mob killer. Use it to punch and teleport your way through hordes of enemies while simultaneously blowing targets up as you go.

Advantageous Stinger (5/5)

Stinger received a big damage buff in Season 10, and it's the perfect Core skill to use for this build. Take the Advantageous upgrade for healing and Vulnerable application.

Measured Soar (1/5)

Soar is a great movement skill, and with its Enhanced upgrade, it'll give you either guaranteed crits or bonus movement speed, depending on whether you hit an enemy with it. Use this to dodge attacks, reposition, and run through maps quicker.

Reinforced Scourge (1/5)

Scourge is your main Defensive skill. It'll give you some breathing room when you need it, and with the Reinforced upgrade, it'll restore your Vigor as well. We take Scourge over something like Armored Hide for Crowd Control-related synergies.

Invasive Touch of Death (5/5)

Touch of Death inflicts a ton of Poison damage to enemies, and when its main target dies, it spawns a swarm that attacks other enemies. When upgraded, this can be used to Poison even to enemies that are outside of your screen.

Exalted The Devourer (5/5)

Ultimate skill that deals tons of damage thanks to Season 10 buffs. Use it when facing big Elite packs and bosses. Later on, when you get a specific Chaos Power, you can remove its upgrades and use the points for other skills.

Passive Skills

D4 Spiritborn Noxious Resonance

Skill

Description/Notes

Vigorous (3/3)

Using Core Skills will increase your overall Vigor generation.

Velocity (3/3)

Moving generates Vigor per second.

Balanced Exertion (3/3)

Core skills will consume more Vigor, but deal more damage.

Focal Point (3/3)

Gain bonus stats when using specific weapon types.

Follow Through (3/3)

Increases the damage dealt by Basic skills, and more so for their 3rd casts.

Apex (3/3)

Gain more Vulnerable damage, and even more when fighting Elites.

Diminishment (3/3)

Vulnerable enemies deal less damage to you.

Endurance (3/3)

Gain Vigor when casting a Defensive skill.

Antivenom (1/3)

Gain Poison Resistance and increased Max Poison Resistance.

Nourishment (3/3)

The healing you receive is increased. When you heal, gain bonus Poison Damage.

Vehemence (3/3)

Potency skills deal more damage, but have a longer cooldown.

Resolution (1/3)

Casting an Ultimate increases the damage you deal against Elites. Double this bonus against bosses.

Sustenance (1/3)

Hitting enemies with Ultimate skills heal you.

Intricacy (1/3)

Casting an Ultimate skill resets the cooldown of the last Potency, Defensive, or Focus skill you used, and it can be cast for free in the next 7 seconds.

Noxious Resonance

Your Critical Strikes against Poisoned enemies cause them to burst, dealing 300% of their remaining Poison damage to them, and 10% of that damage is dealt to other nearby enemies. Poisoning is removed from the primary target when this effect triggers.

Noxious Resistance is what makes this build scale so well into Diablo 4's late game. Instead of just waiting for enemies to die to Poison, you can detonate all the Poison damage on them by hitting them with a critical strike. This effectively triples the Poison damage on enemies, making it an extremely powerful ability to have.

To play this build, just use your abilities when they're not cooling down. Save Scourge and Devourer for moments that need them, and use the rest on your own discretion.

For efficient leveling, start on Normal difficulty, then raise it to Hard by level 10. Then, raise the difficulty to Expert once you get Noxious Resonance. Max out Stinger first, then put at least one point into each of the build's active skills before taking more passives.

Spirit Hall Bonuses

D4 Centipede Spiritborn Spirit Hall buffs

Take Centipede for your main Spirit Hall bonus. This further increases the amount of Poison damage you deal with Centipede skills, and on top of that, it Slows enemies and reduces the damage they deal.

For your secondary Spirit Hall bonus, use Eagle. This makes every second Cast of any ability (including Withering Fist) critically strike. This makes the leveling journey from 30 to 60 as you won't need to stack crit chance on your items. However, once you do get enough crit chance from other sources, replace Eagle with Jaguar to get more Attack Speed.

Chaos Powers

D4 Spiritborn Chaos Powers

Diablo 4 Season 10 introduced Chaos Powers. These are perks that give your characters additional abilities that either trigger passively or empower other skills. For this build, use the following:

  • Accelerating Chaos (Common): Damaging an enemy has a chance to trigger a Chaotic Burst when you score a Lucky Hit. When a Chaotic Burst hits an enemy, a random active cooldown is reduced by 0.5 seconds.
  • Alacrity (Common): Increases the Attack Speed of your Basic Skills. Their Dash range is increased by 50%, and their 3rd casts now happen every second attack.
  • Crazy Brew (Legendary): Using a Healing Potion grants you Resource Cost Reduction, increased Attack Speed, and increased Movement Speed. Your Healing Potion gains a 15-second cooldown, but you can now drink at full Life.
  • Convocation of Spirits (Unique): Casting a Non-Ultimate Skill has a chance to invoke the Spirit of that Skill's type. Proc chance increases based on your Ultimate Skill Damage stat, and your Ultimate Skill gets the benefit of all its upgrades.

Gear and Stat Priority

Best Items for Centipede Spiritborn in Diablo 4

D4 Centipide Spiritborn Season 10 gameplay

Since Poison is still your main source of damage, you'll want to stay away from Critical Strike Damage and focus more on Damage Over Time and Poison Damage. Despite Noxious Resonance's interaction with Critical Strikes, Poison will still not benefit from crit damage.

Now that we've cleared that up, focusing on getting the rest of these stats on your gear:

  • Damage Over Time
  • Poison Damage
  • Damage
  • Dexterity
  • Critical Strike Chance
  • Attack Speed
  • Cooldown Reduction
  • Defenses (Life, Armor, Resistances)
  • Movement Speed
  • Ranks to Stinger
  • Ranks to Nourishment

Paragon Boards

D4 Centipede Spiritborn Build Bane Glyph

Leveling builds don't rely much on Paragon Boards, but to help get you started, here are our recommendations:

  • The Bane Glyph is a must-have for Poison builds. Slot it into your starting board, and level it up to increase its range.
  • Attach Bitter Medicine as your next Paragon Board, then make a beeline for its Legendary Node and Glyph node (use Consumption here).
  • After getting Bitter Medicine, take Sapping with the Fester Glyph and Revealing with the Spirit Glyph.

Once you start hitting a wall on higher Torment difficulties, take Paragon nodes that increase your survivability. If you're not dying much at all, then go for nodes that increase your damage.
