With endgame activities as difficult as The Pit, higher-tier Nightmare Dungeons, or The Gauntlet – among others –, investing time in Diablo 4 on leveling up your characters and exploring the world to get more powerful and extremely rare items is a must. Therefore, Unique farming, albeit time-consuming, is a must if you plan to succeed in the game.
Fortunately, while Blizzard introduces new ways to challenge each Diablo 4 character, they also introduce new ways to improve upon our builds in the form of mechanics and, most importantly, new Uniques. Today's guide will focus on the Crown of Lucion, a Unique helm every character regardless of their class will be able to use, should they stumble upon it during their demonic adventures in Sanctuary.
Diablo 4: All The Mother's Gifts Rewards
The Mother's Gifts are the seasonal rewards players can get in Diablo 4 Season 5; here's what each rank gives.
How to Get Crown of Lucion Unique in Diablo 4
Contrary to other Unique items introduced before it, the Crown of Lucion Unique helm – alongside the other 15 different Uniques introduced during Season of the Infernal Hordes in Diablo 4 – has a greater chance to drop after completing the Infernal Hordes activity. Once defeating the Fell Council, you can open Spoils of Equipment and Spoils of Greater Equipment chests for a chance to get the Crown of Lucion Unique.
You will be able to access the Infernal Hordes activity by getting to World Tier 3 or World Tier 4 and traveling to Zarbinzet with either a Permanent or Seasonal character. Complete the "The Eyes of the Enemy" and "To the Edge of the Abyss" quests and you will receive your first Infernal Compass, which acts as a key that allows entry to the depths of Hell and the Infernal Hordes.
Your main goal in the Infernal Hordes – other than survival – is to get as much Burning Aether as possible by completing Aetheric Events. These are based on destroying powerful enemies that will spawn after defeating a set number of enemies during each of the Infernal Horde waves. Collect the Aether, clear the waves, face the Fell Council bosses, and then you will be able to open Spoils of War chests. Spend 20 or 60 Burning Aether to open Spoils of Equipment or Spoils of Greater Equipment to get any of the new Uniques, including the Crown of Lucion.
Alternatively, you can open chests across Sanctuary starting at World Tier 3 or partake in World Events in Diablo 4, such as facing World Bosses, completing Gathering Legions, or beating Nightmare Dungeons in the hopes of getting the Crown of Lucion without the need to access the Infernal Hordes.
Crown of Lucion Unique Effect & Affixes in Diablo 4
If you get the Crown of Lucion, any class you use in Diablo 4 will benefit from its Unique effect which will grant an increased damage boost of five to 15% to any skill with resource cost – which is stackable up to five times – and a Resource Cost Reduction of 30%. You can also check out and exploit the effects of its Affixes detailed below:
- +[638 - 873] Maximum Life
- [6.0 - 8.0]% Cooldown Reduction
- +[6.0 - 8.0]% Lucky Hit Chance
- +[32.0 - 40.0]% Shadow Resistance
To maximize your chances of getting the Crown of Lucion in Diablo 4, be sure to farm for Infernal Compasses and Abyssal Scrolls. The Compasses feature a Tier system that increases the number of waves you face in the Infernal Hordes activity, therefore increasing your Burning Aether gain, allowing you to open more chests after every run – note that the difficulty will also increase. Open Spoils of Materials chests to get Abyssal Scrolls to upgrade your Infernal Compasses to make the best out of your visits to the depths of Hell.
