The Beast in the Ice is one of several endgame bosses in Diablo 4, added as part of the Season of Blood. Players need to collect a bunch of summoning materials to unlock the battle with this boss. However, the rewards are worth it. Specifically, both versions of the boss drop materials used to summon Andariel, and the Tormented version can now drop Mythic Unique Items. Keep reading for tips on farming summoning materials, where to summon Beast in the Ice, and what loot this boss drops in both normal and Tormented form.

Updated by Abigail Angell on the 21st of August 2024: Season 5 The Infernal Hordes has brought several changes to the endgame boss ladder, including differences in summon material farming, and the ability for all Tormented Bosses to drop Mythic Uniques. The new Seasonal Unique Items also impact the boss loot tables, with percentages shifting to accommodate these items.

How to Summon Beast in the Ice in Diablo 4

As the name says, the main element of the Beast in the Ice is Cold. It is recommended that players boost their Cold resistance before engaging in combat. To summon the boss, players must be in World Tier 4 in Diablo 4 Season 2.

  • First, complete Nightmare Dungeons Tier 21+ and collect 9 Distilled Fear.
  • Once enough resources have been gathered, players should visit the Glacial Fissure in Kyovoshad
  • Place the Summoning Materials in the Altar at the end of the instanced zone.

This will summon the Beast in the Ice, which is a level 85 boss.

How To Summon The Tormented Beast In The Ice

Summoning a Tormented version of the boss requires 21 Distilled Fear as well as the Stygian Stone. These materials are used on the same altar but on the second tab of the pop-up window. The resulting boss is level 200 but drops much better loot, including Mythic Unique Items.

Because Beast In The Ice almost exclusively does Cold Damage, a Cold Resistance Elixir is an excellent consumable to use before fighting this boss.
