Summary
- A glitch in Diablo 4's Infernal Hordes couch co-op mode is making matches impossible to complete.
- According to players, matches are getting softlocked after new waves stop spawning.
- It's unclear when a fix for the problem will be released.
Players are reportedly facing major issues when trying to complete Diablo 4's Infernal Hordes in couch co-op mode. This wave-based survival mode is offered as an endgame activity in Diablo 4, granting players valuable resources and loot, though some players are facing a bug that makes matches impossible to complete.
In the year following its release, Diablo 4 has received a consistent stream of updates, with the game getting its biggest overhaul yet this fall. Officially released on October 7, 2024, Diablo 4's Vessel of Hatred expansion added to the popular action RPG in numerous ways, most notably with the new Spiritborn class. Diablo 4 initially launched with five playable classes, with Spiritborn serving as the game's sixth. Players have been enjoying all that Vessel of Hatred has to offer over the last few weeks, including new boss fights and dungeon encounters, though one part of a previous Diablo 4 update is causing problems for those wanting to try couch co-op.
Diablo 4: Touch of Death Spiritborn Build Guide
Players looking for a heavy-hitting poison build for their Spiritborn need look no further. The Touch of Death blows up bosses and mobs alike.
Reddit user MaidenlessRube shared a post to the game's official community page, voicing their frustrations with a glitch that is currently impacting Diablo 4's infernal hordes feature. According to the player, the problem lies specifically within couch co-op, with matches getting softlocked after new waves stop spawning. "In local co-op, it happens on a regular basis, rendering the game mode completely useless," says the player. Others chimed in, with Reddit user art_mech saying, "Yeah, I’ve just stopped doing IH on co-op for now. Such a frustrating experience." It's unclear what is causing this issue to occur, but it seems to be somewhat frequent for those attempting to play Diablo 4 with a friend in co-op.
Players Frustrated with Diablo 4 Infernal Hordes Issue
Reports of this bug come after Diablo 4's recent November 4th hotfix, which addressed two key issues, one of which involved Obducite drops. The other bug fixed in Diablo 4 impacted health, which had the chance to get stuck at 1 HP after a player used a certain item. These have thankfully been taken care of, though it seems like Blizzard has at least one more issue to look out for in a future update.
While Diablo 4 can be played entirely solo, the game features a ton of content for parties to enjoy together. One of the best examples of this is Diablo 4's Dark Citadel event, an endgame activity part of Vessel of Hatred. Players can join together in this event, which marks Diablo 4's first raid-like experience. Plenty more is in store for Diablo 4, which is currently in the middle of its sixth season. Developers promised the game's Season 6 would be massive, with both this content update and Vessel of Hatred releasing on the same day.
