Diablo 4 players have a great reason to jump back into Season 9 with the March of the Goblins event in full swing. Added as a surprise alongside Diablo 4's update 2.3.2, the March of the Goblins event gives players a boosted chance of encountering these elusive enemies known for dropping valuable loot. While it's debatable how helpful some players will find this event, given that the loot these goblins drop has diminishing returns the further a player is into the endgame, it's worth participating in regardless due to one reward players are guaranteed to earn if they slay enough Treasure Goblins.

Although the March of the Goblins got off to a rocky start due to a bug that prevented the event's statue from appearing in Kyovashad, it was quickly squashed and now players can earn some fantastic rewards by hunting down goblins throughout Sanctuary. It's worth taking a look at the reward tiers on offer at this statue in Kyovashad since doing so reveals that a Resplendent Spark awaits players who slay enough goblins to reach the top tier. However, players will want to take full advantage of this event while they can, since it's only available for a limited time.

Diablo 4 Players Can Earn a Resplendent Spark from the March of the Goblins Event

Resplendent Sparks Are Diablo 4's Most Coveted Material

One of the most sought-after materials in Diablo 4 is the Resplendent Spark, as these very rare items are needed to craft Diablo 4's best Mythic items. Players who are hunting for a specific Mythic but just can't seem to get it to drop from a Lair Boss can alternatively craft their desired piece of gear using Resplendent Sparks. Unfortunately, Resplendent Sparks are exceedingly hard to come by, with only a few sources available each season:

  • Completing the seasonal reputation ladder
  • First time defeating Uber Lilith in a season
  • Salvaging a Mythic

While each of these sources is guaranteed to drop a Resplendent Spark, achieving any of the requirements is easier said than done. Completing the seasonal reputation ladder is the most straightforward, but can be very time-consuming, especially in Season 9 where players must farm Horadric Knowledge to progress it. Uber Lilith is considered the hardest boss in the game, so any player who can defeat her is more than worthy of a Resplendent Spark. Salvaging a Resplendent Spark from Mythic gear requires players to find said item in the first place, so this method largely serves as a way for players lucky enough to find a Mythic to scrap it if they wish to craft a different one instead.

Crafting a specific Mythic requires players to spend Runes along with two Resplendent Sparks, so it can be extremely beneficial to invest in the March of the Goblins event for players intimidated by Uber Lilith or are unable to find a Mythic organically.

Players Should Jump at the Opportunity for a Resplendent Spark While They Can

The March of the Goblins may be a great chance to grab another Resplendent Spark, but the event only runs for a very limited time. It's currently ongoing and runs until August 5, meaning players will want to dedicate their time in Diablo 4 to farming goblins and working their way up the tiers to earn that Resplendent Spark. For players looking to efficiently farm Treasure Goblins during the event, there are a set of unwritten rules the Diablo 4 community recommends for March of the Goblins, like spending time in Helltides and activating Greed Shrines whenever possible.

There are 10 total tiers to the March of the Goblins event, and players can check their progress at the Altar of the Goblin statue in Kyovashad. Alongside the Resplendent Spark earned at tier 10, players will get a Legendary Goblin Cache and March of the Goblins Emblem.
