Among the many offerings in Diablo 4's Midwinter Blight is the Shard of Dawn Aspect, a legendary offensive power that's specifically designed to make farming the Christmas event easier and more convenient. It's a universally useful Aspect that every class in the game can make excellent use of.

Getting the Shard of Dawn is different from how the rest of the Diablo 4 Aspects are obtained. While the process itself isn't terribly complicated, it will take some time before players can get their hands on it. There's also a bit of confusion as to how Shard of Dawn works, so we'll be covering that here too.

Diablo 4: How to Get Shard of Dawn Aspect

Firstly, players can get the Shard of Dawn Offensive Legendary Aspect by purchasing it from Gileon, the Midwinter Blight vendor. He can be found in Midwinter Square, which is directly to the left of Kyovashad's waypoint. Speak with him to view his shop.

The Shard of Dawn costs 5 Midwinter Proofs. To get this event-exclusive currency, players need to exchange either Blighted Fragments, Lost Heirlooms, or Red-Cloaked Trophies in the Collection's Table in Midwinter Square.

Players can easily amass Blighted Fragments by simply going around the Fractured Peaks and killing all the big Blightfiend packs they encounter. To make this go even faster, players can participate in public events that feature Blightfiends as the main monsters. Ideally, players should be farming the Blighted Revelry event, which spawns the Red-Cloaked Horror boss.

What Is the Night's Grasp and Midwinter Ward?

The Shard of Dawn Aspect increases the user's attack speed and movement speed for 12 seconds. This sounds simple enough, but the power's description mentions Night's Grasp and Midwinter Ward with no real explanation as to what they are.

Night's Grasp is the state of being in combat while the Shard of Dawn Aspect is equipped. All players have to do to activate the Aspect's power is to keep dealing and taking damage for 30 seconds straight. This can be hard to maintain when patrolling the Fractured Peaks, but players should have no trouble staying in combat during events.

Meanwhile, Midwinter Ward refers to the buff that players can get from the special totem in Midwinter Square. This totem only appears once players reach Tribute Tier 3. To increase Tribute Tiers, keep exchanging any of the three materials above. Doing so will cause the totem in the square to change, and players will get a nice bounty of loot for their efforts as well.
