A new leak indicates that Blizzard could be planning to add a new Paladin class to Diablo 4. If confirmed, the Paladin would be the seventh class in Diablo 4, which has only added the Spiritborn after its release in 2023.
The Diablo series is one of the most beloved action RPG franchises, and its latest entry was released in 2023. Diablo 4 is currently in its ninth season, called Sins of the Horadrim, which features new Horadric Spells and Jewels, as well as new Dungeon Escalations, Horadric Strongrooms, and more. Season 10 of the popular title is scheduled to be released on September 23.

Leak Indicates New Paladin Class Could Be Coming to Diablo 4
Now, the Spanish Diablo fansite DiabloNext (via Icy Veins) has spotted a new build called "2.5.Xpaladin.67961" on Blizzard’s servers, which may point to an upcoming Paladin class. The Paladin has been one of the most requested Diablo 4 classes since the game's release, and it may be in the early stages of testing. However, not much is known about the possible new class, including its powers or when it’ll be available. Blizzard has already revealed that Diablo 4 will not get any significant updates until Season 10, so gamers should not expect the new class before September at the earliest. Even with the file using 2.5 in the name, it may take a while for the Paladin class to become available, which makes its appearance in 2025 uncertain.
The Spiritborn class was added in Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred DLC, and it’s speculated that Blizzard may be preparing Paladin for the game's next bit of DLC content. Blizzard has already confirmed that the next expansion will be available in 2026, bringing with it some additional changes such as new ranking and leaderboard systems. In any case, it’s always best to take these rumors with a grain of salt, as Blizzard has not yet confirmed this information at the time of this report.
Right now, Diablo 4 has six classes. Five of them were released with the base game: Barbarian, Necromancer, Sorcerer, Druid, and Rogue, with each covering different niches. The recently added Spiritborn class has been deemed by many to be the best class in the game due to its versatility and powerful melee abilities. As nothing is known about the Paladin, it’s hard to say how it’ll compare to other classes. However, it will possibly follow a similar path to Diablo 3’s Crusader, which had a wide range of abilities focused on causing damage, being strong in both melee and at a distance.
