Summary
- Diablo 4's Seething Opals are loved by players and there are requests to make them a permanent feature.
- Seasonal changes introduce new mechanics like Malignant Hearts, Vampiric powers, and companions.
- Seething Opals grant helpful effects for 30 minutes, and can be obtained in various ways during Season 6.
Diablo 4 players love the Seething Opals, to the point of asking Blizzard to make the new item permanently in the game. Due to the live-service model, Diablo 4 players are introduced to new mechanics every few months, but as the season changes, these features give way to others.
In the first season, Blizzard introduced Malignant Hearts, a special drop with the ability to grant offensive, defensive, or utility enhancements. With the arrival of Season 2, it was Diablo 4's turn to add Vampiric powers, which granted buffs such as cooldown reduction and extra damage. Season 3 introduced the companion Seneschal, who followed players on their adventures. Due to big changes made to the main game, Season 4 didn't have a seasonal mechanic, with Season 5 bringing back a feature of this kind by adding the Infernal Hordes mode.
Diablo 4: How To Unlock Season Blessings (& What They Do)
Season Blessings can be upgraded throughout Diablo 4 Season 4, granting strong Seasonal bonuses through its unique Smoldering Ashes system.
Diablo 4 Season 6 added new consumables called Seething Opals, which won over the community to the point where players are asking for the feature to be in the game permanently. This is the case with Reddit user Sweetie_EU, who asks Blizzard to keep Seething Opals and Realmwakers as a base resource, "just giving them an improved form." They also have asked Blizzard to bring back the fight against Astaroth, one of the bosses seen in the third season of the action RPG.
Seething Opals Are Diablo 4's New Consumables
The Seething Opal works like a type of elixir which, once activated, will grant players an effect for the next 30 minutes. There are five opals, which increase the drop of equipment, gold, herbs, crafting materials, gem fragments, and Artificer's Stones, with runes, boss summoning items, or Infernal Compasses also having the chance of dropping occasionally. There are three ways for Diablo 4 players to get Seething Opals, which can be by taking part in the Hatred Rising event, increasing the reputation of Zakarum Remnants by completing seasonal objectives, or as a reward for progressing through the Season Journey.
In the comments section, some Redditors disagreed with Realmwalkers remaining in the game, but agreed with Seething Opals continuing even after the end of Season 6. While the community waits to see if Blizzard will keep Seething Opals in the game, there is plenty in the current season to keep them engaged. Most notably, Diablo 4 has added new passives and skills for all classes, made major changes to progression in aspects such as difficulty and itemization, introduced the new Realmwalker enemies, and added the new dungeons called Seething Realms.
