The meta for Diablo 4's endgame tends to shift from season to season as new Uniques are introduced, skills and passives are rebalanced, and seasonal mechanics take hold. Ahead of Diablo 4 Season 10, a clear pattern is emerging with the reveal of the new seasonal Chaos Armor and Chaos Perks mechanics, along with this season's new Uniques, and it paints a pretty clear picture of where each class will stand when the season officially launches.
There is still room for the Diablo 4 Season 10 meta to change based on the seasonal patch notes, so these classes' meta placements aren't set in stone.
Diablo 4 Season 10's Most Likely Meta Contenders
- Sorcerer
- Spiritborn
- Druid
Coming off a strong Diablo 4 Season 9 meta presence, the Sorcerer is once again likely to be one of the strongest classes in Season 10. Despite the Hydra Sorcerer build suffering a nerf to the Serpentine Aspect, there are other build options that should be able to fill the void. The introduction of the Galvanic Azurite Unique Ring gives the Sorcerer a powerful tool for its Lightning Skills, and the buffs to Charged Bolts and Overflowing Energy make Chain Lightning and Crackling Energy Sorcerer builds the ideal choice for the class this season.
Another Season 9 meta powerhouse that is set to repeat its performance in Season 10 is the Spiritborn. While the Spiritborn's new Hesha e Kesungi Unqiue Gloves are nothing to write home about, the addition of Chaos Armor allows the class to double-dip on its best Unique and Mythic options. Rather than having to choose between a key Unique like Loyalty's Mantle and a Mythic like the Heir of Perdition for the Spiritborn's helm, players can still get the fantastic Unique affix on a different piece of gear while still equipping a build-defining Mythic.
Diablo 4's worst Mythic, Nesekem, the Herald, may also find utility in Season 10 since the Spiritborn's best Unique Weapons are in its pool of Chaos Uniques.
Diablo 4's Druid saw flashes of potential in Season 9, but Season 10 puts it in a position to be a serious meta threat thanks to its new Kilt of Blackwing Unique. This Unique should allow the Companion Druid build to thrive, since it can be used alongside Storm's Companion, and other Unique Pants, as Chaos Armor. While the Druid's Grizzly Rage skill did get a bit of a nerf in the PTR, the class should still be in an even better position than it was last season.
Solid Classes with Meta Potential in Diablo 4 Season 10
- Necromancer
- Barbarian
While the Necromancer has seen a few solid buffs and minimal nerfs to its skills, there isn't much new in Season 10 that will improve the class's standing. Its new Gospel of the Devotee Unique Focus has some niche usage potential, but likely won't move the needle much for Diablo 4's Necromancer builds. As such, the Necromancer will likely remain a solid choice in Season 10, but may end up outperformed by better classes.
Barbarians might be in a slightly better position in Diablo 4 Season 10 than they were in Season 9, with Chaos Armor opening the door for the class to utilize some interesting Unique combinations. Last season, the Hooves of the Mountain God Unique Boots gave the Barbarian's Lunging Strike build a nice power boost, and the ability to utilize both this Unique and the Flickerstep on a build, thanks to Chaos Armor, should give this build even more utility. The Barbarian has also managed to dodge any major nerfs so far, so it seems like things are headed in an upward trajectory for the class in the coming season.
One Class May Struggle to Find Meta Success in Diablo 4 Season 10
- Rogue
Most Diablo 4 classes are usable for the majority of the game's content, but some off-meta builds may struggle in the endgame. For the Rogue, this has been the case for the past few seasons, and it may continue with Season 10 as well. There is some hope for Diablo 4 Season 10 Rogue players, since the Chaos Perks system could create a powerful Twisting Blades build, but this would come with some serious risks that could keep the class from reaching its full potential.
